If you are tempted by Rose what about Rosamund, nn Rose, so pretty.

If you like the Layla genre what about Leila. Name of one of ds's little sisters. She's a tomboy though.

Charlotte is lovely nn Charlie.

Tessa.

@TabithaHazel

There are all perfectly nice but fairly bland names - but there's nothing wrong with that if that's the vibe you are going for. The only name name I dislike on your list is Darcie, and my favourite is Amber.

I like nature names personally so if I were naming a daughter I'd choose something like: Willow, Iris, Camellia, Sylvia, Cordelia, Selene, Aurelia or Jasmine.

I suppose bland is my vibe then Blush you're right I like something fairly normal. Willow is pretty though

@Rosemary2022

No she wouldn't get teased for Charlie
My partner is saying this is a nickname used for a drug so now unsure! Thought I'd found one I loved for a minute there..

Olivia - Nice, but a bit too common
Gracie - Prefer Grace
Mia - Nice, again very common
Alaya - Never come across this one, but pretty
Leia - Nice, but makes me think of Star Wars
Layla - I really like this name
Darcie - Prefer Darcy
Ella - Pretty, become very common
Ava - Same as the above
Amber - Ok, quite pretty but not my first choice
Daisy - Nice as a middle spot
Olive - I'd only use it if I wanted to honour a family member

WinterCarlisle · 27/03/2022 21:42

Olivia - ok. Bit dull
Gracie - too cutsie. Grace is better with Gracie as a nn
Mia - insipid
Alaya - not keen
Leia - ok
Layla - not keen
Darcie - awful
Ella - nice
Ava - ok
Middle names-
Amber - lovely
Daisy - like it
Olive - v popular

How about:-

Leah
Sylvia
Hannah
Lucy
Elena
Eva
Tessa
Fiona
Callie
Ruby

I have 4 primary age DC and know very few, if any girls with names I’ve suggested.

Congratulations!

ISmellBurnings · 27/03/2022 21:44

Olivia - like it but it’s hugely popular and everywhere
Gracie - too cutsey. Not a grown up name. Also Grace is the filler middle name for girls.
Mia - again too popular, boring
Alaya - not keen
Leia - prefer Leah
Layla - love it
Darcie - really dislike it, unpleasant sounding
Ella - wet, boring. Dull
Ava - literally everywhere. Just blends into the sea of Ava/Evie’s. Massively overused. I know loads.

I love Alicia pronounced Alice-ee-ah

What about Felicity?

WinterCarlisle · 27/03/2022 21:45

Oh and Sasha. I love this name but didn’t go with our surname.

Also: Naomi, Abigail and Norah are ones that we liked

glowingcandle · 27/03/2022 21:46

Sorry this probably isn't helpful but I like all the names on your list Grin my favourites are Mia and Layla.

RosesAndHellebores · 27/03/2022 22:09

Rather than Mia what about May?

TokenGinger · 27/03/2022 23:34

My SIL is Charlie and I love it.

From your name, the only one that isn't completely overdone is Leia. Which is nice. I much prefer Leah, though.

Clairejay34 · 27/03/2022 23:53
