I love it, but would like opinions.

If you don't like it, why not? Generally would like opinions ☺️

Was just about to say the same.
PierresPotato · 25/03/2022 17:42

Saxon, Angle, Jute, Dane, Norman, none of them good names imo.

BlancheB · 25/03/2022 17:44

@KirstenBlest

Norman is better

PierresPotato · 25/03/2022 17:46

I do like Frank though.

FuggyPidding · 25/03/2022 17:46

I've only ever heard it as a surname.
I don't mind some surnames as first names though like Parker, Fletcher and Wilson. Not as keen on Saxon but if you like it, why not?!

Wingingthis · 25/03/2022 17:48

How about Jaxon?

StopGo · 25/03/2022 17:49

@MrsMoastyToasty

Tutor = Tudor.
Tudor is a Welsh name meaning God's gift. Lovely name.
BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 25/03/2022 17:49

It’s not a name.

Although I guess you could go with “Salty” as a nickname!

Seriously though, don’t do this to a kid. It’s try hard and makes you sound like someone who’s never read a book in their life.

It’s a woman’s name to me, I know a woman named Saxon, I think it’s such a strong name for a girl, shame it’s been taken over by WS I did not know that until I read it on this thread

Soubriquet · 25/03/2022 17:58

Oh im glad another female Saxon has popped up.

Honestly, it really suits her

TatianaBis · 25/03/2022 17:59

I get the white supremacy thing too.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 25/03/2022 18:00

Sorry. Dog's name. Knew a Paxton

cafedesreves · 25/03/2022 18:05

I teach one!

extractorfactor · 25/03/2022 18:07

If you have more offspring you could name them:
Jute, Angle, Goth and Vandal. Or go further back with Roman!

cafedesreves · 25/03/2022 18:10

Or Norman!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 25/03/2022 18:18

Also knew a Tudor at school. Really nice lad.

RockinHorseShit · 25/03/2022 18:23

It's not for everyone, but Oh I love it, it's a name for a boy destined for great things

Unsureaboutit9 · 25/03/2022 18:24

I don’t like it because:
1)white supremacy
2) it’s not a name
3) will get shortened to sax or sax I.e sex/sexy. Or Sak potentially which isn’t any better.
4) means dagger or short sword, just doesn’t seem cute for a baby.

AnotherPoster · 25/03/2022 18:25

I don't see why not. Tudor is a name. People call their sons Roman. Norman is a totally established, if rather unfashionable, name. Saxon works just as well as any of these. Personally, I quite like Jute!

It wouldn't work for me though. Celt through and through here!

Synchrony · 25/03/2022 19:33

I'm sorry, my first thought was also white supremacy.

TatianaBis · 25/03/2022 19:35

I don’t see why it’s not a name, in an age where not-names are used all the time. There have been people called Saxon - Saxon Sidney Turner for one, the only issue for me is the white supremacy angle.

TatianaBis · 25/03/2022 19:36

Saxon Jenkins is another.

ladygindiva · 25/03/2022 19:46

Dp had a friend called Saxon at university. I really like it.

Totalwasteofpaper · 25/03/2022 19:48
