Isabelle, Isabel or Isobel?

Just that! Which spelling do you prefer? It’s for a middle name so won’t be used in class etc.

Isabelle is too frilly. When I see Isobel the word "sob" leaps out at me, so it looks sad

My friends daughter is called Izabelle don't get many spelt that way

Isabel. It's my dd's name, I chose that spelling as it's nice and round looking if you see what I mean

Not Isabelle, it's too frilly for me.

I much prefer Isobel/Isabel (I can't decide between these two) than Isabelle. I just think the first two feel more classic? I realise it's to do with heritage of the name rather than age.

I think the extra letters only fit if you stick an 'a' on the end.

Gorgeous choice either way but it's simple, classic Isabel for me. From what I've read over the years it's supposed to be the "original" version along with Isabella (Spanish variation from Elizabeth), so it's likely the other countries versions of Isabel developed from it - Scottish Isobel, French Isabelle etc. But if you have strong Scots or French links, then I might suggest differently...

Isobel. My DD's name! But we're in Scotland so that's the Scots version. Can see she will spend her life correcting the spelling, the amount of times people persist in calling her Isabella

My beautiful Izzy is Isabel, just as it sounds, to us personally the other spellings looked wrong

Isabel is my favourite girls name, I’d pick Isabel first, then Isabelle as I love it shortened to Isa x

Regardless of how you spell it, loads of people will end up writing it as Isabella! Even though they hear you pronounce it, they will stick that a on the end.
