Isabelle, Isabel or Isobel?

Just that! Which spelling do you prefer? It’s for a middle name so won’t be used in class etc.
Thanks and merry Christmas all!

I think Isabelle just as that's how I would presume it was spelt if someone asked me

I chose Isabelle as Isabel just looks too short although it is the English spelling of course.

She prefers to be called Izzy now though (she's 17).

We have a Rose Isobel followed by a foreign spelling of third name because of family . I do find the other versions more common and boring but that’s a matter of opinion . Still happy with it 9 y on …

Isabel. The belle spelling is too frilly for me, and you pronounce it 'is a bell' not 'is oh bell' so it makes more sense to me.

Isobel - like Flambards. I'm old though.

Isabel is the traditional English spelling (and the Spanish too, of course - which is where the name originated). However Isabelle seems to have overtaken it in popularity in the UK in recent years. It's the French version. I find it a bit too frilly, with unnecessary letters though, like Annabelle and Juliette. Prefer Isabel, Annabel and Juliet.

I'd vote for Isabel because traditional, original version, less fussiness, although I really like Isobel too. People say Isobel is the Scottish spelling, but I find it a bit confusing as I thought the Scottish version of Isabel was Ishbel?

I have an Isobel simply because her dad is dyslexic and he spells it as he says it Grin

Isobel.

Am Scottish. Isabelle is way too frilly unless you have French heritage.
