I have encountered many different spellings including; Ami, Aimee, Amee, Amie. Must be a nightmare having to spell it out.

The thing is, Aimée in French is pronounced completely differently to Amy in English, so unless you're going to use the French pronunciation then the French spelling would be a bit silly, IMO.

Amy is the most straightforward spelling if you are in the UK I think.
