I prefer Aimée pronounced correctly. But that’s not what OP meant.

I'm an Amy and never get asked how to spell my name. I can only assume and other variation just gets spelt incorrectly

My granny spells my name Emy Grin but I think she's just contrary like that!

So obviously I vote Amy Grin.

The thing is, Aimée in French is pronounced completely differently to Amy in English, so unless you're going to use the French pronunciation then the French spelling would be a bit silly, IMO

The pronunciation thing is true, but it's hardly like Aimee is an unknown, is it? It's a standard way of spelling the name, has been for donkeys, no one is going to ponce about trying to pronounce it as a French word. And OP didn't include the accent either.

Amy. I love it. Reminds me of little women.

Amy. But I'm biased as I am one Grin

I know several Aimees, an Amie, and an Aimie (bleh) - I think mine is the superior spelling for the UK though Wink

This^

I like Aimée, it means "loved" but I knew one (with the acute) who pronounced it Amy, which is silly.

Amy, if you want the usual pronunciation. I'd want to pronounce the other version "Emmay" like in French.

Aimee's nice but I would go with Amy as that's the way I think most people would spell it as it's the traditional spelling

@pencilsontheceiling

Aimee more to it than amy which is a bit bland.

Playing devils advocate... does it make that much difference seeing as names are spoken more often than written?

Then again, we're on a thread to debate the spelling, so...

Amy.
