Grace

Poppy is 12 and hates her name as she feels its too cute and girly and really hates it when her family call her Poppsy. Kids in class sometimes call her pop off or pop which she hates equally. She wants to be called Kate or Jo and daydreams about it. Poppy loves team sport especially football and athletics. She lives in her tracksuits and her parents tease her a little saying she'll even get married in one when she's older.

Victoria

Victoria is 40 and runs an art gallery in Cork street which specialises in abstract art. She is tall and slim with tawny streaky hair and a narrow, patrician face. She shops almost exclusively at Cos in a palette of black and mud colours which only serves to set off her vibrant acrylic jewellery which is made by her husband Toby, who she met at art school in the early naughties. They live in Hampstead, in a house given to them by Toby's parents, which Victoria loves and resents in equal measure. She suspects Toby is having an affair with their neighbour Suzette, but she doesn't really care.

The owner of the gallery is a billionaire who lives between New York, Paris and Dubai so she is mostly left to her own devices running a team of giggling art graduates who are treading water until they meet men called Jasper or Theo and can settle down in Primrose Hill and start having children.

Victoria ( NEVER Vicky) has a fine art degree and once upon a time had pretensions to be a great artist herself. This job was only ever supposed to be a temporary position while she worked on her own art. But it's been 15 years now and she's become seduced by the money and the cachet her job confers. She likes working in the west end, she pops to Burlington arcade most days and marvels at the antique jewellery in Susannah Lovis.

She's not really bothered either way about abstract art; her great shameful love is the schmaltz of the Pre-Raphaelites. She sometimes nips over to The Tate and stands in front of Ophelia by Millais for a quarter of an hour or so, swooning at the romantic martyrdom of the image before hopping back in a taxi to Piccadilly to flog Kandinskys to rich Americans.

Courtney

Courtney is a young American brunette with short hair. Bubbly and slightly chubby.
She works as an account manager and is extremely confident and smart. She's only 25 but has already progressed significantly in her career.

She has a bf called Jamie and she's always trialling a new diet.

New name: Olga.

Olga runs a successful fertility clinic in Scandinavia where she mainly assists lesbians couples who want to start a family. She has long, grey hair often warn in two plaits. She wears round rimmed glasses and rides a town bike.

She is vegan and never runs out of rye bread.

Luca

Olga is 99 Years old. Shes looking forward to her 100th birthday. She's still very independent and wouldn't accept help from anyone. She also counts hee lucky stars that she doesn't need any help. She has no intentions of slowing down. People are amazed by her. Shes an excellent story teller.
Shes affectionatly known as auntie Olga.
She's mum to 4 daughters 9 grandchildren. 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand child. She's dotes on her grandchildren. However although she'd never admit it as she would t want to upset anyone. She does secretly favor her Grandsons and she sees them as the sons she never had.
Her husband died 35 years ago. She never married or had a relationship afterwards.

Zoe

Zoe and Luca live together in a one bed rental flat with their ginger fat cat Milo in Cardiff. They met in uni and stayed in the city. Zoe works for an insurance company and Luca in a restaurant whilst applying for jobs in IT. They still hang out with other Uni mates that also stayed and meet regularly in an independent coffee shop down an old shopping arcade near the castle.

Pauline

Pauline is a 60 year old lady who loves watering her flowers every afternoon and loves a good gossip and smoke with the neighbours!

Dylan

Dylan is 28 years old, affable, and works as a manager in a supermarket.
When he isn't at work, Dylan spends time obsessively cleaning his tiny flat, and washing his hands until the skin cracks.

As yet, he has confided in nobody about his routines, but he knows they are beginning to spiral, and that he will need help to manage his health.

For now, though, he keeps himself to himself, goes to work, and rushes home to spend his evenings cleaning.

Saffron.

Saffron is 15. Takes no crap off anyone. She’s certainly no bully though and is the first to defend the meek child.
She has dyed blond hair. She’s naturally dark brown haired and brown eyes. She has intentionally thick eye brows. Some may say she wears far too much make up and far wiser than her age.

Alan

Alan is 56 and is a Pilot for BA he loves his job as he gets too fly too hundreds of Amazing Places he is very Tall and very Skinny his co workers call him the bean pole he is Married too Jenn 52 they have 15 Cats as Alan is a very Catty type Person

he is also having an Affair with a Co Worker her name is Marylyn 21 and she is an Air hostess on almost all his flights they have been dating for 3n weeks and Alan is Besotted with her He has no intention of leaving Jenn but he needs too do something too spice up his Sex Life as Jenn has hit Menopause and never seems interested any more

he is hoping Marylyn can teach him a thing or 2 that he can try with Jenn

New Name

Adrian

Adrian works in IT. He is very particular about everything in life and gets incredibly stressed if things don’t (go his way) go to plan.
Adrian wears neat blue jeans, a shirt and tie and shiny black shoes to work - smart casual he says.
He is married to Liz and they have no children but Adrian thinks this is for the best, neither of them like children they would mess up their house and garden.
Adrian has a VERY expensive car and it makes him feel great. He washes and polishes it every Saturday morning and takes Liz for a spin in it if she’s ‘lucky’.

New name: Katja

Katja's family moved to Manchester from the Ukraine when she was 3 yrs old. Her family live in a house share in one of its bedroom and share the kitchen and bathroom with 2 other families. This is the 8th house they've lived in as they keep getting moved by their landlord who owns all the houses and was introduced to them via a friend. As Katja attends the local comprehensive school now knows that this is wrong but her parents get cross when she tries to tell them as they are so worried their landlord will evict them.

Osian

Osian is short with strawberry blonde hair and glasses. He has no interest in fashion and, despite being 19 now, his mum still buys his clothes. His interests include gaming and science. He doesn't like going outside much and would avoid it altogether if possible.

Joy

Joy is 62, she retired early from a job as a Social Work Assistant. She sings in a choir. At Christmas, she is thrilled when the choir leader smiles at her when her name is sung in Carol lyrics.

Joy is good at sewing and will run up curtains on her sewing machine for friends. She is married to Keith, who works in IT for the police.

Eluned

Eluned is 53 and small with greying blond hair and grey eyes. She was born in St David's and is a fluent Welsh speaker. She's fiercely proud of her mother tongue and is a champion of all Welsh culture. She is softly spoken and her accent is quite pronounced when she talks in English.

She has only recently moved back to the UK after living for nearly 30 years in New York. She went over in her 20s on a green card marriage which went tits up after about 6 months when her husband, who had been deeply in love with her, realised that she had used him solely to gain admittance to the US. He eventually moved to Florida and Eluned stayed in the big Apple, living in a tiny loft in the Bowery and working at any job that would have her to make rent. She never remarried, and would have stayed in America indefinitely has her father not become terminally ill. She has come home mainly to support her mother in her husband's last days but she finds the UK small and pokey and the accents grate on her ears.

Gregory

Gregory is 67, wears wax jackets, owns a springer spaniel and likes to take long walk.

Charlotte is late twenties with a bitchy resting face. She spends a lot of her time rolling her eyes, sighing loudly and folding her arms. She has a fiance, Joey, who she is horrible to. She only tolerates him because she likes saying she's engaged, and because he's in the army so he's away a lot.

Charlotte works in an office but she has vague ideas about moving on to something else someday soon, some of higher education, but she can't think what to study as she doesn't really like anything.

Whenever she goes on nights out with her friends, she drinks too much and ruins the night because someone has to carry her home/spend the night comforting her while she drunk cries about nothing/stop her snogging a stranger/stop her starting fight etc. Her friendship group are friends from school who stuck together more out of habit than anything else, and they sort of wish they could have a nice evening out without her drunkenly ruining it but they're too scared to not invite her because she can be very mean.

Susie is Gregory's treasure of a dog sitter.

Immensely capable, she also works part-time for a charity and sometimes takes dog boarders in to the office with her. When not working, she is a lady who lunches. Her DC are grown up, and she loves having the grandchildren to stay, but secretly prefers having their dogs when they go off on family holidays

New name: Benedict

Benedict is a florist who is busy making Christmas wreaths, but drinking mulled wine whilst doing so, making them look rather haphazard. He has a pet pug called Penelope and detests hot tubs.

Joseph.

Joseph’s girlfriend is pregnant with their first child. Well, I say ‘their’ first child but the truth is, they haven’t had sex yet so he’s not quite sure what’s going on.
They’re currently homeless and it’s all a bit of a mess. He’s thinking nearer to her due date they’ll pack up the belongings they have, get on their donkey and travel somewhere quiet where she can have the child without raising any eyebrows from local gossips.
Seems like a good plan!
