Can't have Alice, Rosalie or Amelie.

Considering Adeline, Ophelia and Genevieve. Any others? Any favourites? Or any like strong and beautiful names that aren't french that go with this style?

Aude
Mathilde
Estella

Non-French names:
Eudora
Gwendolyn
Cordelia
Elvira/Elmira
Marcella
Lucinda
Lucia

From your list I prefer Genevieve.

MirandaBlu · 29/09/2021 19:13

I like Genevieve from your list, but it's pronounced very differently in French vs English.

Also like Anaïs and Céline.

I know a French Josiane - old fashioned now in Francophone countries, but I like it because it gives you all the Jo, Joey, Josie nicknames (plus Anne or Annie) without the awkward -eph- sound of Josephine or Josefina.

Etienne is a boys name
Also, I would have thought the French name was Ophelie, not Ophelia

Love so many of these. I love Genevieve pronounced the French way.

Watch the Netflix series Call my agent for inspiration! There’s a Camille, Colette, Andrea, Noemi…

On these threads you always get an actual French person or someone who lives in France coming to tell us all that our favourites are dreadfully old fashioned and the top baby names in France are English ones Grin
