Can't decide between Clara and Lydia

Hi!

DM and I are a little bit stuck trying to choose a name for our 3 days old daughter.

One of us likes Clara, and the other one likes Lydia.
Lara is another one that we are considering.

Help, please!

Lara is definitely the nicest. I can't bear the harsh 'lid' sound in Lydia and its such a frumpy name. Clara is just rather boring. (Sorry!)

I prefer Lydia to Clara, but Lara is a good compromise between the two.

Clara has got very popular, Lara not so much and it has an elegant international feel about it. Lydia is more classic.

Difficult decision for you though!

I like both but i really love Clara.

I'm brazilian and the 3 names are used here.

You could compromise and go for Claudia !

Otherwise, I like Lara and Lydia. I'd probably lean towards Lydia because of the tomb raider association with the name Lara.

Oh - there's also Clarissa/Clary (yes, I'm watching Shadow Hunters atm).

And no, I can't explain why this association is more acceptable to me than Tomb Raider, heh.

Also Larissa, just in case you hadn't considered it yet. It's an important decision so take your time !

I really like Lydia - lovely and underused. Not that keen on Clara, it's ok, but having a bit ofa moment and reckon it'll date pretty quickly. Lara is quite pretty, but prefer Lyra. How about Luna or Leila? Or Cara or even Cora?

They’re all nice but I think Lara is the nicest. You can’t go wrong with any of them as they’re all lovely though! Maybe you could use both of your favourites and have a Lydia Clara/Clara Lydia?

Lydia is the mean aunt in handmaids tale, puts me right off. Lara is nice, less common than Clara.

Clara is lovely, it won't date, it's a classic (unlike Luna and Lyra, which will date).
