Hoppinggreen · 07/07/2021 11:38

No, sorry not keen
Seren is nice

Zarene · 07/07/2021 11:39

I misread it as Soreen.

Sorrel?

GammyLeg · 07/07/2021 11:39

Malt loaf

Thisusedtobeaniceneighbourhood · 07/07/2021 11:40

I like it, but it makes me think of Soren Lorenson from Charlie and Lola. He is Lola’s imaginary friend, who is a better version of Charlie (her brother), based on a true story.

Palavah · 07/07/2021 11:41

I think of it as a Scandinavian name - is that right, do you have connection?

No negative thoughts at all.

Ps i assume it's a boy

FartleBarfle · 07/07/2021 11:41

I think of malt loaf. Also Charlie and Lola.

SD1978 · 07/07/2021 11:42

If you're in the uk will be synonymous with malt loaf

willoughwillow · 07/07/2021 11:42

yes it is a boys name

Palavah · 07/07/2021 11:47

I have never made the association with malt loaf.

KirstenBlest · 07/07/2021 12:06

Too similar Soreen. It looks like a girl's name (Seren, Lauren...)

Sören (German, Swedish) or Søren (Danish) are ok but UK keyboards don't have the ö or ø characters.

bigbaggyeyes · 07/07/2021 12:11

Or malt loaf Grin

Yellowmoons · 07/07/2021 12:11

I assumed it was a girl's name. I think it's fine. Very unusual here I think, but I quite like the sound. You may also like Torin?

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 07/07/2021 12:12

Malt Loaf.

Thoren?

BunnyRuddington · 07/07/2021 12:14

Like many others I just see Soreen.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 07/07/2021 12:15

I know a Danish Søren who works in the U.K.

It doesn’t remind me of malt loaf. It’s said differently…

I like it. I’ve got no scandi heritage so I’d probably discount it for me, but it’s a nice name.

TatianaBis · 07/07/2021 12:23

If you’re Scandi it’s fine. Otherwise it’s a bit random.

SirenSays · 07/07/2021 12:27

Kierkegaards first name wasn't it? I think it's a nice name, definitely doesn't make me think of soreen.

MouldyPotato · 07/07/2021 12:29

Malt Loaf

DottyDelaney · 07/07/2021 12:30

One of my daughters had a friend called Søren. Wonderful violinist. Søren is also a famous Danish philosopher.
It’s a nice name but unless you have some kind of cultural of familial link to it, I suspect it may come across as rather try hard.

MadeOfStarStuff · 07/07/2021 13:12

I really like it

toastofthetown · 07/07/2021 14:09

How would you be pronouncing it. As Søren is pronounced (like Sir-un) or to rhyme with Lauren? I like the first way but not the second.

WithANameLikeDaniCalifornia · 07/07/2021 14:26

Is that not a brand of fruitcake?

Isitpossi · 07/07/2021 14:28

Malt loaf

Estherlee · 07/07/2021 14:29

I think it's a great name! We had it on our list too.
