Pronounced Jon-kwil a name I’ve always liked and nature related bur is it too much?

In French it’s lovely - zzjonkee (ye)

I don’t mind it but I knew one at school and I think her mother was French. It sounds much nicer the French way but unfortunately she was just called Jonkwil, in the English pronunciation, which I agree sounds awful and like a medicine.

I love it. Botanical and classy. I would worry a bit about it being shortened to Jon or Jonny though.

It sounds like something Jacob Rees-Mogg would name his poodle.

It’s a Game of Thrones name in my mind but it’s not a very pretty name for a flower name imho.

Sorry OP but it reminds me of a paint colour I used to have - a lovely light yellow. It's not a name I could stomach

I had a school friend who was called Jonquil and she was lovely so it's a yes from me.

It was the joke name in one of Adrian Mole's writing forays, wasn't it?
