I like Beatrix a lot but like the Bella sound. There are other 'bad' characters that have good names. It's a constellation so it's not made up. Interesting points though.

Other kids won't bat an eyelid, parents and potential employers will do much eye rolling so best not, ay.
Saying that I did meet a little khalesi in the park once and she was lovely.

I don’t know the character but it makes me think of a dominatrix. Bella is nice though.

I think it’s a beautiful name but yeah I would never use it as it’s comparable to calling your child voldermort (to me anyway)

So as long as you don’t mind people thinking ‘wow they must be really huge Harry Potter fans’ then I would use it.

Lucius is a real name though and at least Narcissa and Severus had redeeming features. Bellatrix has no good qualities or moments of being good. It's a very negative name to give your child.

Narcissa is equally awful as a name.

Most people these days won't call a child Narcissa. The one I know is very elderly. People want to avoid the Narcissist connection. Lucius is a popular name anyway, like Lucas, Luca, Luke, Lucian etc. People wouldn't necessarily make the connection they same way they definitely would with Bellatrix LeStrange

Bellatrix really is awful. Even if you over look the HP evil character, it does also sound like a dominatrix/BDSM caricature.

And if you are so set on naming your daughter after an evil character there are other names that will be less difficult for her to live with. Bellatrix is right up there with Maleficent!

Severus was also a name in Roman times.

Agree that it's a no. For Bella there's Isabella, Arabella, Sabele, Annabelle, Rosabella, Calrabelle. Or just Bella followed by a middle name. Beatrice is beautiful though, that would be on my list for a girl.
