Ttc & Mabel was on my list the past two times? How would you picture a Mabel?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

A traditional name becoming popular again. Sweet name but good also for an adult. Lovely classic.

FindingMeno · 28/05/2021 22:35

I think its a lovely name.

Threelittlemonkeyss · 28/05/2021 22:38

Love it and would use it for sure if ds 2 (due in 4 weeks) was a girl. I feel it’s a really friendly name. It’s pretty but also solid :)

I'm fond of the name. I had a great aunt Mabel who would have been 104 now if she had lived. Growing up, she was the only divorcee I knew, she had travelled the world and scandalised everyone in the family by taking lovers. She was an independent, adventurous free spirit who didn't live by the rules, and so I associate the name with bravery and non conformity.

My mum calls my little niece Mable, so sweet 🥰

LeafCutterAnt · 28/05/2021 22:40

I'd think she was quite cool and a nice person

Lizzie523 · 28/05/2021 22:41

Old fashioned. Reminds me of a dog.

MinorCharacter · 28/05/2021 22:42

Great aunt chic. I like it.

Undersnatch · 28/05/2021 22:42

As an adult? I’d imagine her to be super cool, hipster type, maybe in a band or running her own business. Similar as a child, cool, independent, interesting.

Mrsmophead · 28/05/2021 22:43

I love it😍 Timeless name. My SIL is one and she is kind and beautiful. Exactly how I would have imagined a Mabel to look.

NotRainingToday · 28/05/2021 22:43

We have a guinea pig called Mabel, but mostly because my DDs were born before that kind of name became popular.
I would absolutely use it for DD now!

Foxglovesandlilacs · 28/05/2021 22:45

I have a Mabel and she is adorable Smile I think it’s a good name for babies, children, teens and adults. It’s also a bit of a cat name which only makes me like it more Grin

NotmyfirstRodeomyfriend · 28/05/2021 22:46

DD's best friend is Mabel, she's cute and cool, love it!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/05/2021 22:46

Sweet, free spirited, nature loving and out doorsy.

Cleverpolly3 · 28/05/2021 22:47

I love it
One of my dearly loved friends has a very special little girl called Mabel. Whenever I think of the name or her I smile

EKGEMS · 28/05/2021 22:58

It's my late paternal grandmother's first name-I like it!

VodkaSlimline · 28/05/2021 23:00

Mabel would have middle class parents with hipster aspirations. She'd probably also have a brother called Otis.

xprincessxjanetx · 28/05/2021 23:02

I don't dislike it but it reminds me of an old lady. I know every old person was once a baby but I struggle to see a newborn Mabel in this day and age but maybe i'm just behind with the times! My DD2 is named Violet which some would see as old fashioned.

Homehaircuts · 28/05/2021 23:02

I love that name if I had a girl it would be on my list.

newtolineofduty · 28/05/2021 23:04

I LOVE it! I'd love to use it but my partners not keen and it'd be too similar to DD1's name if we had another now anyway x

Mojoj · 28/05/2021 23:05

Plain Jane

Blossomtoes · 28/05/2021 23:06

It’s such a lovely name. I’m a bit biased though as it was my favourite aunt’s name. She was an amazing woman.

Squiginawig · 28/05/2021 23:08

My cousin has a Mabel aged 3. When she first told us the name they had picked I was a bit Hmm, but she is the cutest, sassiest little soul and her name just seems to suit her so well! As a result of our little Mabel, I now love the name!

SandysMam · 28/05/2021 23:09

I think Victorian Auntie but nowadays it is a very middle class hipster name! I would expect her to wear gender neutral clothes and eat a lot of smashed avocado! Hearing a lot of Margot’s around too. Brother called Otto or Wolfgang.

bubblesforlife · 28/05/2021 23:13

Old fashioned! Soz OP.
