I really like for a girl:

Heron
Lark
Wren
Birdie
Robin
Dove

Which do you prefer?

Lark and Linnet are my favourite bird names. I love a pp’s suggestion of Starling!

MariLwyd · 04/05/2021 23:20

From your list, Robin or Wren

ContadoraExplorer · 04/05/2021 23:39

Once had an acquaintance called Peregrine, it was a family name apparently and she was Perry for short.

Happenchance · 04/05/2021 23:46

I only like Wren and Robin.

Swan, Phoenix, Teal?

Jennyfromtheculdesac · 04/05/2021 23:57

I’ve always thought Linnet would be a nice name

Really? Even though it sounds like a tampon?

Wren and Robyn are acceptable, quite nice even. All the rest are awful.

How about Flamingo?

Cindie943811A · 04/05/2021 23:59

I think that Robin, Wren and Lark are all fine but I’d avoid your other suggestions.
Linnet is nice and what about sparrow?
Peregrine is nice but is usually a boy’s name.
Do return and let us know what you decide.

Lark out of your list. But I like Linnet even more.

Robin, Dove and Wren are all OK.

I really don't think Heron works for a girl.

Birdie is rather cutesy.

Crocidura · 05/05/2021 00:11

Bronwen
Llinos
Gwennol

Edenember · 05/05/2021 00:11

Wren. Although my favourite type of bird is the white-browned tit warbler. 😳

MajorNeville · 05/05/2021 00:58

My stepdd is called Erin, my aunt has always called her Heron. We think it's hilarious.

BeefSupreme · 05/05/2021 01:02

Puffin after the character in “Wishfart” (he’s a puffin btw)

TatianaBis · 05/05/2021 01:33

Lark

Paloma?

Undertheoldlindentree · 05/05/2021 05:51

Heron Foods ....wipes that one out once and for all.

Piper?

ThatIsMyPotato · 05/05/2021 06:47

Wren

AlwaysLatte · 05/05/2021 06:57

Heron??
I think people would forever mistake Birdie for Bridie. I like Robyn - with a y is the girl's version and Robin is a boy's (I think). Wren reminds me of kitchens now unfortunately.

HuntingoftheSnark · 05/05/2021 07:09

Piper, for Sandpiper?
Kiskadee is a nice bird name.

WhenPushComesToShove · 05/05/2021 13:16

The nursery thought my nephew's name was Owl. It's Hywel.
Jay
Martin
Swift
Definitely not Spotted Flycatcher or Swallow 😆

logoffbarry · 05/05/2021 14:29

Penguina

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 05/05/2021 15:43

Heron really gave me the giggles. Grin

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 05/05/2021 15:44

Wren is a funny one. About 5 years ago a friend had a daughter called Wren and I thought 'oh how unusual' and suddenly I'm hearing it everywhere. Will probably date badly.

nancywhisky · 05/05/2021 15:45

Polly

ShoppingPrecinctPrincess · 05/05/2021 15:47

What about Oriole? That seems a bit more special

Listener2021 · 05/05/2021 15:54

Mavis is the old name for Song thrush.

I once read a book with a baby girl called Pheasant.
