Fed up of not having a baby name.

Baby girl is due in about 4 weeks, we originally was going to call her Avery but everyone hated it which made us hate it so we've gone back to find a new, there's a few I love but just feel weird to say? Like to use the name feels weird?
We already have a George and a Violet.

So far the names iv got are;
Winnie/Winter
Maelie
Daisy
Aura

Iv scoured all pinterest boards, tiktoks, instagram pages but I just can't find anything else I like. DH has just given up at this point and has never given any input 😂

Can any one suggest some names that are abit different? Or give their opinions on the names iv already got please x

Winnie/Winter winter ok, Winnie nooooo
Maelie - uh, what?
Daisy - nice
Aura - no

What about Aurelia, Laurel, Rowan, Sage?

George and Violet are both quite popular/“safe” names so Avery and Maelie don’t obviously fit as they are a bit more alternative. Especially Maelie. Daisy is more in keeping with your other DC names. Winter/Winnie is ok.

Other options below but if you have scoured all the baby name boards and threads etc then it’s unlikely anyone will suggest anything you haven’t already thought of:

Oh I like Winter nn Winnie a LOT.

Not keen on Maelie and ... Aura? I think if someone said that I’d think I’d misheard and the name was Aurora (which am not a fan of).

Winter is a beautiful name, if I had of had my way DD would have been Winter Aurelia

@Bobbots yeah my MIL didnt like our original name choices for them so we had to change them to fit something she liked 🙄 iv liked seren for a long time though

I like Daisy. It goes with George and Violet.

If she was due in Winter then I’d think Winter was ok, but not for a May baby.

Well there’s your problem... your issue is not about baby names but with your MIL. And with you DH for indulging her and catering to her wishes. I have no idea why people would choose their children’s names based on their families opinions/choices?! Just don’t tell her until they’re named. It’s non negotiable. If my MIL told me she didn’t like my DDs name then I’d just laugh and maybe say oh well!

The mistake you're making is involving other people. It should only involve your partner and yourself

Why does the mil have a say on YOUR child's name?

Myself and my partner decided on our daughter's name and if somebody else didn't like it we didn't give a (insert word)

Please yourselves not your MIL

Don't be bullied op, stick to your guns.

Baby gets born and you tell everyone what you have named her. She's your baby to name not your MIL's.

If you like Avery then name your baby Avery.

Avery does sound like a plant however if you like it then go for it. It is nothing to do with your MIl.

If your adamant your not going to choose it then with siblings George and Violet I would go for something like...Jemima, Lottie, Maisie, Ettie, May, Hannah, Ella, Freya

Who is ‘everyone’ that hated it? People on here or family? Don’t choose a different name if that’s the one you had your heart set on! I’ve just gone round in circles for weeks struggling to find any boy names I like because I’d convinced myself not to use the name we had originally picked because it had become too popular. I’ve now decided if that’s the one I want I should just use it rather than hear the name for the rest of my life and regret it!

George and Violet are quite classic sounding so maybe that's why MIL is not keen on your more unusual/contemporary choices for DD2? (although it's not really her business!).Daisy fits the classic mold, but is a bit too floral with Violet imo.
