Fed up of not having a baby name.

Baby girl is due in about 4 weeks, we originally was going to call her Avery but everyone hated it which made us hate it so we've gone back to find a new, there's a few I love but just feel weird to say? Like to use the name feels weird?
We already have a George and a Violet.

So far the names iv got are;
Winnie/Winter
Maelie
Daisy
Aura

Iv scoured all pinterest boards, tiktoks, instagram pages but I just can't find anything else I like. DH has just given up at this point and has never given any input 😂

Can any one suggest some names that are abit different? Or give their opinions on the names iv already got please x

Everly is nice as someone mentioned above. Also Elsie, Annabel, Autumn, Elodie, Aurora, Estelle? But if you do still actually like Avery, tell noone and just announce it when she's born.

Stick with Avery its gorgeous. Its just tough shit on your MIL if she doesn't like it. She's,had her day naming her own kids.

Husband chose DD's name. My mum said she loved it. I was meh. I had to have her under a GA (long story) and when I woke up Husband and nurses were already referring to her by the name he and Mum had chosen. I would have gone for something way more flowery and out there. They both said, we can change it! But I was tired and dopey and in pain and didn't have the strength to argue.

So resist your MiL! Choose the name you want. I love Avery.

Seren is a lovely name. Don't tell anyone names you are considering until after baby is here and she already named.

Daisy is lovely, really don’t like any of the others.

If you liked Avery, how about Eva or Evelyn?

My family didn’t like my choice of boys name (we had a girl), but I would still have used it...still would actually. It’s not their choice.

If you like Avery then you should go with it but actually I think Ava goes slightly better with George and Violet .

Avery is lovely, your mother in law can do one. If she says anything else perhaps reply with “yeh well I’m not keen on the name “insert your partners name here” but each to their own” and smile 😊

Oh and meant to add you’ll regret not going with Avery if you let your MIL get to you, especially as you have no back up names.
Plus you can’t have her thinking she can boss you around 😉

PIL didn’t like our choice of name for one our DCs either. Told them the name and they text back ‘what about ...... instead?’

Don’t give a fuck what they think.

Your MIL has had her chance to name children. Use the name you and your partner like, and don’t involve other people beyond your democracy of two, it’s not a group endeavor.

Avery is lovely. Don't pick something to suit family and friends, it's your baby. Do you approve of the names of all your relatives? One day you'll meet a little Avery and feel regret you didn't chose the name you wanted because you cared to much about what others thought.

Like Daisy. Not so keen on the others.

I like Avery, although it feels more like a boy's name to me because of Charlotte's Web.

I like Aura best of your list, although I would go with Aurora. Maelie and Daisy feel a bit too juvenile for an adult and although Winter is a nice sound I'm not keen on Winnie (sounds a bit neighing).

Sybil, Hallie, Sydney, Romilly, Marlowe ... ?

I like Daisy or Seren from your list. Aura is dreadful (migraine with aura anyone!) and I don’t really like Winnie (pooh) or Maelie (will get mistaken for Miley). I quite like Maëlle but it doesn’t really go with your other two names.

George and Violet feel like strong, definite names so I'd want to choose something of a similar ilk if it were me. Wanting to avoid any more Roald Dahl names, I'd chose something like Scout or Harriet.
