Baby girl is due in about 4 weeks, we originally was going to call her Avery but everyone hated it which made us hate it so we've gone back to find a new, there's a few I love but just feel weird to say? Like to use the name feels weird?
We already have a George and a Violet.

So far the names iv got are;
Winnie/Winter
Maelie
Daisy
Aura

Iv scoured all pinterest boards, tiktoks, instagram pages but I just can't find anything else I like. DH has just given up at this point and has never given any input 😂

Can any one suggest some names that are abit different? Or give their opinions on the names iv already got please x

Avery is a brand of parcel scales, and it is too similar to Aviary and Ovary

Clara
Juliet
Alyssa

Amelia

Seren Avery goes very well. Tell MIL you are waiting to see what name suits your DD when she’s born. Immediately baby is born cry out that she is definitely Seren Avery. Then you introduce her toMIL as that. If she demurs just tell her I’m sorry but that’s who she is. You named your children and helped name George and Violet but this one is already named.
Good luck. Do come back and tell us how you get on.

I love Avery, was on my list but sounded very similar to the school I was working at so decided not to! Winter is my girls middle name and I like Winnie as a shortening.

Some names could be:
Kathleen
Meredith
Grace
Victoria
Nova

I don't mean to be rude, I'm wondering if it would provide some inspiration.

Your other two children are named after Rhold Dhal characters.

George's Marvelous Medicine
Violet beauregarde from Charlie and the chocolate factory.

Maybe have a look at the collection for some inspiration?

Lavender
Sophie
Matilda
Josephine (grandma)
Jennifer (Miss Honey)

If you love Avery, go with Avery. It's not my personal favourite but there's nothing offensive about it. Don't discuss the naming of the child with family, just announce it once she is born. MIL had the chance to name her own children, it's your turn now.

I like Daisy from your list but whichever you choose don't tell anyone until the baby is born then you can't be swayed. Good luck!

notalwaysalondoner · 12/04/2021 15:56

Daisy, Winnie and Seren go better with your other children's names as they're classic. You could use Avery as a middle name.

KirstenBlest · 12/04/2021 16:52

Verruca?

Sophie?

Luckyelephant1 · 12/04/2021 17:07

I think Avery is lovely. Who cares what others think? This is why we aren't telling anyone the name til baby is here because people can't really say they hate it once it's attached to a real life baby.

If not then Daisy is nice. Aura would be nice but it's also the awful thing you get right before a migraine so maybe not that one!

Oh, use Avery! It’s my 90 year old nanna’s name [outs self - I’m sure there are few to zero others that age 😄]. It’s gorgeous! It is a stand-out and characterful name.
