Dove?

Don’t think we’ll use it for this baby but just brainstorming? What do you think of Dove?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuluJakey1 · 14/03/2021 01:17

What about Woodcock or Pigeon?

CodMouth · 14/03/2021 01:17

Soap

custardbear · 14/03/2021 01:19

Forever called Div at school ... no

DramaAlpaca · 14/03/2021 01:20

No, that's not a name. It's a bird or a brand of soap.

Paloma means dove if that helps.

UhtredRagnarson · 14/03/2021 01:21

Palmolive? Imperial leather?

Lockdownbear · 14/03/2021 01:23

Soap, sorry OP think again.

nocoolnamesleft · 14/03/2021 01:23

Soap. Or possibly antiperspirant.

DenisetheMenace · 14/03/2021 01:24

Another soap, sorry.

Blueberries0112 · 14/03/2021 01:25

I have used dove for years, it’s a good soap

LuluJakey1 · 14/03/2021 01:27

Camay
Carbolic
Pears

Blueberries0112 · 14/03/2021 01:28

Oops I keep missing the title of the board ... you mean the name for your child.

Sounds like a good name (pay no attention to the brand name to soap, there are so many soaps named after people anyhow)

grapewine · 14/03/2021 01:32

Your kid is going to grow up. Is it as good at 40 as it as at 4?

Dove is soap and a bird.

ReggaetonLente · 14/03/2021 01:32

I liked it as a middle name but my mum laughed and it put me off.

Katy Perry's daughter is Daisy Dove.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 14/03/2021 02:46

I suppose you could get away with it for a fun, off-beat middle name - but unlike Lark, Robin, Wren etc, I think Dove in the UK would make people think of soap as much as the bird as it isn't commonly used as a given name.

SixDegrees · 14/03/2021 02:52

It makes me think of the soap.

mathanxiety · 14/03/2021 03:38

It's a perfectly nice name - I know one aged 40ish and it suits her well. She's an English teacher, in the US. Dove is a soap in the US too.

I would say go for it.

Aquamarine1029 · 14/03/2021 03:42

A woman named Dovey Roundtree was absolutely remarkable, and her achievements are very inspiring. Ever since learning about her I have loved the name Dovey.

CattyCactus · 14/03/2021 03:46

Terrible.

minisoksmakehardwork · 14/03/2021 04:10

Dove Cameron sprang immediately to mind. Dd loves her in the descendants movies.

Slacktide · 14/03/2021 04:32

I quite like it. Far better than Wren, which is often suggested on here. And which is just as much a brand of kitchen as Dove is a soap.

CupOfTeaAlonePlease · 14/03/2021 04:32

I really like it.

MaxiPaddy · 14/03/2021 04:33

Ugh. Just no.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 14/03/2021 04:42

I mis-read it as "Dave'.
I think that might happen on forms etc in the future.

Ellmau · 14/03/2021 11:57

Deodorant/soap etc. Sorry.

What about Lark?

lunarlife · 14/03/2021 13:20

Dove is also the name of galaxy chocolate in the USA.
I think Paloma sounds a little nicer but I've heard worse names.
