Just curious because i personally think it's a pretty and cute name but no one seems to like it.

That's fine Squirtle but I still don't think the meaning of the name matters really. Making the poor DC have to spell it out for the rest of her life is a different matter!

I like Cameron a lot, I think it’s a nice strong name which isn’t too popular but is recognisable enough. I prefer to use the correct spellings of names though, different if it’s an accepted variant eg Isabel/Isabelle but Camryn is just misspelled.

Seen to be more acceptable spellings in the USA. They really stand out in he UK, and not in a good way.

(p.s. it was really hard to type those names out as autocorrect doesn’t accept them as real words).

No idea why this popped into my head, but it's the best name in the world for a ventriloquist. You can/just have to say it without moving your lips!

I think a lot of Welsh sounding names don't go do well because people will tend to stress the second syllable. In Wales it would be 'Camrn' and the second syllable almost said under the breath.

But Cam on its own isn't perhaps as quaint as Meg , Cait, Tams - which all get a Welsh 'nn' added.

The Welsh pronunciation of some names is attractive and the English one less so. 'Cam' has quite a hard sound. Kami is pretty.

I don't even like 'Cameron', it's overdone and borderline chavvy (IMO)

I'm open to some American influences but this trend of changing spellings is just annoying. There are some names which exist which have different versions e.g. Ann / Anne etc, but I don't know why you would want to create that. It doesn't add anything to it and really doesn't make you look unique. It just comes across that you want to appear unique but failed at it, as all you can do is take an existing name and change the spelling or pronunciation slightly.

It's one of those American-style names Mormons give their kids when they've run out of ideas. One of those "non-names".

In Wales Camryn would be pronounced CAM-rin, and I think people would think it was a boy's name because it ends in -yn.

Cam in Welsh and Gaelic means crooked, so it's not great. Not sure where Cait and Tams come into it, Caitlin is Irish and Tamsin Cornish.

I like distinctly gendered names and Cameryn’s too unisex. The odd spelling doesn’t help.

I knew someone who called their son Camron. I always thought it looked like they couldn't spell!

I like Cameron but not this spelling.
