Have all 3 on my long list, which would you choose?

According to nameberry (via the evening standard!) Cora could be 12 th most popular girls name for 2020, not sure how reliable that prediction is.

So it looks likely there will be a fair few around. One site predicts it will fall in popularity along with others names beginning Co due to covid, but I am not entirely convinced by that since it doesn’t sound similar to Covid to me.

I think Coraline is actually nicer which could be less commonly used and can be shortened to Cora.

I love the name Cara! Was just saying it the other day❤️❤️❤️

CherryChocPie · 10/02/2021 15:38

Clara

Marlena1 · 10/02/2021 15:42

Cara is lovely. I love C names. Also love Carla as pps have suggested.

Serin · 10/02/2021 16:45

I prefer Clara.

PrivateParty · 10/02/2021 17:45

Cara

Honeyroar · 10/02/2021 19:39

Yes Carla is a lovely but similar name. I think I prefer it to the others.

Tavannach · 11/02/2021 12:06

Clara or Cara. How well it went with the surname would be my tiebreaker.

alwayslemons · 11/02/2021 12:14

Cara or Cora.

SpiceRat · 11/02/2021 12:24

Clara for me. The girl who bullied me relentlessly through school was a Cara and I find the name repulsive. But I appreciate that is just my hang up. Maybe keep all three on the list and see what suits better when the little lady arrives.

PocahontasMcGinty · 11/02/2021 16:06

Clara is beautiful
Cora is like an apple corer
Lots of dogs called Kara/Cara round here

User65412 · 11/02/2021 16:22

Cora is lovely

LizzieAnt · 11/02/2021 20:37

Cora is like an apple corer.

That depends on the OP's accent though. In many accents the second syllable of Cora and corer sound quite different.

Edenember · 12/02/2021 00:13

For me, definitely not Cara. I like both Clara and Cora, I think I’d have to go for Cora. Apple corer slightly puts me off, but not enough.

Figgyboa · 12/02/2021 00:40

Clara

zingally · 12/02/2021 15:23

Not super fond of Cora, but like Clara/Cara. I have a Claire, so very similar. We considered Clara quite hard, but went for Claire in the end as we thought it sounded "friendlier".

Teakind · 12/02/2021 16:07

Cara would be my favourite.

Clara sounds like someone makes when they are trying to clear their throat to me

Teakind · 12/02/2021 16:08

The noise someone makes that should say!

ladycarlotta · 12/02/2021 17:01

I have a Clara but would have equally gone for Cora. I think it's lovely and probably a bit less popular these days. I'm not really a fan of Cara though, I know that makes no sense.

Does anyone use the accent in the name? So Cára
