Clara, Cora or Cara

I believe Cara is friend in Irish which is very sweet.
The word cara does mean friend in Irish, but the word is not pronounced as the name Cara is. I think the pronunciation of the name is from the Romance languages, whereas in the Irish language cara is pronounced more like 'corra'.

Cara is gorgeous. Clara doesn't do it for me and I really dislike Cora (geriatric and apple corer.)

Clara is too fancy for me, and the "Cl" makes it harder to say than the other two. I think Cara is absolutely gorgeous, it's one of my favourite names so I would go for this. I don't like Cora - too old-fashioned and makes me think of an apple corer.

I also like Carla and Tara, both of which are rarely used these days (both outside top 500) - so if you want something more unusual then these might be good alternatives to consider.

I love Cora! Clara is also a nice name.
As an Italian, "cara" is just an adjective for me, it feels more like a real name with the k spelling.

Cara first then Cora, but definitely not Clara. Biased though as my horse is called Cara, which might not help!

Love Cora but I think it's having a bit of a moment if that bothers you, I know two in real life, a couple of others in FB groups and have seen it on here a fair bit recently. I think it's my favourite though.

Clara, lovely.

Cara I like but I struggle with because the name and the Irish word are pronounced differently as PP said so I always stumble over it.

Basically, all lovely.
