Some of mine...

Names I got a liking for in pregnancy before being brought to my senses

Boudicca
Edelweiss

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/02/2021 19:29

The other one was Isis. Predating the terrorist organisation..

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/02/2021 19:29

I used to think Camelot would make a lovely boys name. Also loved Merlin. Aeson is a nice boys name too

I've always thought Pandora and Persephone were nice names and I've always quite liked Petunia and Perdita.

I really wanted to give my first dd the middle name Daffodil but everyone talked me out of it.

RosesAndHellebores · 04/02/2021 19:30

Gawain
Ophelia (love the name but such tragic associations)
There was a girl at school who was blonde, glamorous and had a sports car for her 21st birthday. She was called Candida and I thought it was awesome - then I found out Grin.

Namechangeforthis88 · 04/02/2021 19:32

We fancied Cromarty for a boy but bottled out. Would've gone really well with our surname too.

Kljnmw3459 · 04/02/2021 19:33

I once met a baby named Wellington. I thought that was an unusual name.

Hoppinggreen · 04/02/2021 19:35

I know a cherry, she’s about 10 I think

PolarnOPirate · 04/02/2021 19:35

Know in real life:

Girl: Kyrie - beautiful but pronunciation issues

Boy:
Flash
Gulliver

BabyBee93 · 04/02/2021 19:35

@NameChangePropertyAdvice adore Bruno!

@Aroundtheworldin80moves those are bold indeed even for me!

@17caterpillars1mouse I love Persephone and Daffodil! Going on my list

Tigerlily

PolarnOPirate · 04/02/2021 19:36

Also Pebbles.... think that’s Jim Davidson’s kid? May as well have gone for BamBam

Hoppinggreen · 04/02/2021 19:36

I loved Lucifer when I was pg with DS but DH was mean and vetoed it.
DS is 12 now and says he wishes that were his name

BabyBee93 · 04/02/2021 19:36

@PotholeParadies Gulliver! Oh my! This might be my new top spot for boy names Grin

OP posts:
ZaZathecat · 04/02/2021 19:39

Keziah for a girl

PolarnOPirate · 04/02/2021 19:40

Yes baby Gulliver used to come into the cafe I worked in in London 😄 pretty cool. Gull kind of works. Like Gus.

VintageDiamonds · 04/02/2021 19:40

Boy
Etienne - always loved it but wasn’t popular with my DH/relatives.

Girl
Keziah - I have an ancestor named Keziah. Old but also modern sounding IMO.

My children both have very traditional names.

VintageDiamonds · 04/02/2021 19:41

@ZaZathecat

Keziah for a girl
Wow! I swear I hadn’t seen this post before I posted.
RIPWalter · 04/02/2021 19:42

My DD is "Ripley" (as in the movie Alien).

I like Atreyu (never ending story) for a boy, but alas we are not having any more children.

stormelf · 04/02/2021 20:26

Leofric for a boy

Tyche for a girl

SionnachRua · 04/02/2021 20:35

Jezebel. I would never use it, the negative associations are too much - but God it's a cool sounding name!

SionnachRua · 04/02/2021 20:36

Oh +1 for Atreyu!

Chihiro for any Ghibli fans out there? Love the name, love the movie.

BabyBee93 · 04/02/2021 20:40

Sharing some more of my bolder ones as I'm loving the outrageousness of some of these (I'm looking at you Cromarty Wink)

Girls
Goa
