Love love love it

I think it’s really fresh and lovely.

My son’s name didn’t get a good reception from my family but it’s gorgeous and I love it. Different strokes etc!

Love it

Just coming on here to say to OP that I have a Primrose. She is in infant school. She entirely suits her name in that she is individual, bright and cherished by absolutely everyone she meets. Everyone comments on her gorgeous name and she will rarely/never meet another child named the same. She is so far away from being prim that it's kind of ironic that some people shorten it! I'm so glad we went with it. We gave her a somewhat sensible middle name but I'm pretty sure she will never need to use it. Congrats for joining the Primrose motherhood! We are an elegant bunch 🌼

I don’t mind it at all. Floral names are beautiful and classic. “Prim” as a nickname ends up not being associated with the word prim & instead just being associated with the person. It would be ironic if she ended up being the opposite of prim though, like a motorcross racer or a stunt woman or something.

I have a baby Primrose - everyone calls her Posy, we love it!

Hahaahah yes!!!! Oh my god how embarrassing. I actually just laughed and woke up said baby who’s feeding! I would delete it but it’s too funny. Top tip folks- mumsnet and sleep deprivation don’t mix!

Chunkymenrock · 18/07/2021 18:54

It's sweet but the prim bit is unfortunate.

Kanaloa · 18/07/2021 19:19

TheRosariojewels · 19/07/2021 10:01

Candyapple49 · 20/07/2021 20:47

I teach an eleven year old Primrose . She never shortens it and it is lovely . Refreshing in a sea of Daisies ,Rosies and Ivys . Beautiful flower too .

BunnyRuddington · 20/07/2021 21:37

I know a Primrose in her 80s and she's always been know as Prim. Was years before I realised she was Primrose. Not sure I like it but that might be because she was a little hard to like.

Lalliella · 21/07/2021 00:30

Don’t like it sorry

Livingintheclouds · 21/07/2021 00:35

Sounds a bit precious.
