Do you love it or hate it? 😎

Not keen, just because 'Prim' isn't a nice word. A friend's new GD is called Marigold which I was surprised to realise I really like!

Incyra · 30/01/2021 20:12

Love love love it!!

partyatthepalace · 30/01/2021 20:21

Hate.

It is beyond wet. Wetter than Lily, and that is saying something. Also makes me think of prim and prissy, and yes the Mrs Shipman.

Iris?

Mixitupalot · 30/01/2021 20:52

Love it, it was on our list (had a boy)

And anyway no one knows who Mrs Shipman is fgs.

It’s a lovely name, go for it.

RusholmeRuffian · 30/01/2021 20:59

Hate it

NotCornflakes · 30/01/2021 21:01

Hate it.

ofwarren · 30/01/2021 21:03

I think it's lovely.
I had no idea of Harold Shipmans wife's name and I doubt your daughters peers would know or care about that either.

golddustwomen · 30/01/2021 21:07

Never made the shipman connection but I do really dislike the name. Just strikes me as a bully/total bitch name!

Whatflavourjellybabyisnice · 30/01/2021 21:08

LOVE it!!!

StillWeRise · 30/01/2021 21:10

I never knew about Harold Shipman having a wife called Primrose, but in any case, was she culpable in any way? or just unlucky to be married to him?
I think Primrose is charming.

plumpootle · 30/01/2021 21:12

I love it

DwangelaForever · 30/01/2021 21:15

Reminds me of the hunger games

HazelWong · 30/01/2021 21:21

I like it but I prefer other names in that sort of space - Flora, Marigold, Rosemary, Rosalind

calimommy · 30/01/2021 21:29

I like it because it's a bit different from the usual names but still a well known traditional one. I also like the NN Primmy/Primmie or Prim tbh, I think it is sweet and a departure from the usual Rose/Rosie which are lovely names but common.

SionnachRua · 30/01/2021 21:30

Ugh no, it's a horrible name. So prissy and meek and wet.

TempsPerdu · 30/01/2021 21:31

I’m in the hate camp - sorry. Twee, prissy, Harold Shipman and Katniss’ unfortunate sister.

MrsBungle · 30/01/2021 21:37

I absolutely love it. I hate the nicknames Rosie and Prim though which put me off.

Sausagedog1 · 30/01/2021 21:37

Wow this name is so marmite. I love it but wouldn't use it I don't think. Would love to meet a little Primrose though.

Junobug · 30/01/2021 23:30

I love it. It's my daughter's middle name.

SuperHighway · 30/01/2021 23:34

It's a lovely name for a rabbit, or possibly a cow, but a human child? Just no.

daisypond · 30/01/2021 23:47

I like it. Prima Rosa - first rose.

samanthawashington · 31/01/2021 09:55

Bit of a mouthful for a child, and too twee for a grown woman. Shame because it's lovely and my MIls name

MercyBodle · 31/01/2021 12:24

I love it.

Dulcinae · 31/01/2021 12:47

I'd be charmed to meet a little Primrose, but I wouldn't use it myself.

SirVixofVixHall · 31/01/2021 12:51

I agree with Samantha that it is a bit twee for an adult woman, although sweet on a little girl. I also think of Mrs Shipman, sadly, as the actual name and flower are both lovely really.
Maybe better as a middle name ?
