I like Claire but to by ears Claire Elise sounds like Für Elise, I'm not sure why! I agree with other that Louise was quite a popular name along with Claire. I would go with Elaine

garlictwist · 06/01/2021 22:14

Please not Claire Maureen. Don't do that to your daughter.

Honeyroar · 06/01/2021 22:16

@grandmasterstitch Für Elise sprang to my mind too.

Claire Elouise is a similar, but better sounding, option.

KnobJockey · 06/01/2021 22:17

I am a Claire Ann, I was one of many, along with Claire Louise.

Is it definitely one of those 4? Because Claire Louise flows the best, but it is dated.

unmarkedbythat · 06/01/2021 22:26

Claire Louise

PierreBezukov · 06/01/2021 22:26

Claire is a beautiful name

Claire Margaret
Claire Olivia
Claire Elizabeth
Claire Emily
Claire Amelia
Claire Beatrice
Claire Rosanna

KirstenBlest · 07/01/2021 10:07

Claire Louise, for that 1970s vibe.

maddsclairelouise · 07/01/2021 11:59

Claire Louise are my two middle names haha, so, of course, I am going to say go with Claire Louise Smile

KirstenBlest · 07/01/2021 12:29

I think Claire Louise would be assumed to be the mother or grandmother not the baby.

MindyStClaire · 07/01/2021 12:39

I like Claire Elise. Claire is a lovely name, and will surely be super popular in about ten years. I was born in the 80s and have Louise as my middle name and I do like it, indeed I passed it on to toddler DD for her middle name. Claire Louise is just a bit too dated though, and Claire Elise sounds lovely.

SomewhatBored · 07/01/2021 12:44

Louise.

Lovely to hear you are choosing Claire - it's a beautiful name.

Jonahroo · 07/01/2021 12:49

Claire is lovely and my very on trend Canadian friend has just called her dd this so it must be making a comeback. Claire Elise sounds lovely.

KirstenBlest · 07/01/2021 13:00

It depends on the accent. In some accents it's just a noise.

TitsOot4Xmas · 07/01/2021 13:01

@TootDeLaFroot

Please don't call your baby 'Claire", it's a really shit 70s name, from someone who was there. Plus I've been a teacher for over 20 years and have only ever taught 1 Claire. Don't do it!
As one, I would say 🖕🏻
Donnaj28 · 07/01/2021 21:05

@EndOfTheRoadForMe i only asked for which middle name, not your opinion of the name Claire. Don't be rude

Claire is an awful name sorry but its just so bloody 70s. Can't you use Claire as a middle name. I know so many Claire's, I had 7 Claire Louise's in my class when I was at school and no I'm not making it up. 7 in just on class !!

HeronLanyon · 07/01/2021 23:02

Pure love for
Claire here. Really surprised it gets mixed reviews.
Sounds beautiful looks beautiful and feels kind of French/Irish.
Classy. The absolutely opposite of ‘dull 70s’. IMO Grin (I am not one - began to feel as though I was over enthusiastic there)

Sunbeam18 · 07/01/2021 23:12

I'm a Claire Lindsey

BakeNVac · 07/01/2021 23:33

I know four Claires and not one of them was born in the 70s

40s, 50s, 80s and 90s

Keepyourdistance000 · 07/01/2021 23:44

Claire Jane

Claire/Clara Valentina
.
Claire Pamela

ghislaine · 07/01/2021 23:46

Claire Frances
Claire Victoria
Claire Margaret or Marguerite

I prefer the spelling Clair which seems to me a bit more chic.

partyatthepalace · 07/01/2021 23:52

Claire Louise is nice enough but very 1970s

The rest are a bit grim

Claire is a nice classic name, I think would be set off better with a longer middle name - Claire Elizabeth, Claire Francesca etc

ghislaine · 07/01/2021 23:57

Claire Josephine
Claire Albertine
Claire Evangeline

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 08/01/2021 08:57

How about Claire Valentina?
