I’m a Claire Louise and I love how many people have suggested it 😊

Nohomemadecandles · 05/01/2021 23:35

Just came to say Louise!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 05/01/2021 23:36

My DD has the middle name Clair, so naturally I think it's lovely. I'd go for Elise out of your choices.

notacooldad · 05/01/2021 23:36

Please not Claire Louise! I’m 36 and it’s the exact name of 6 women my age that I know right now, and loads more from the past. Nearly everyone in the 80s had the middle name Louise!
But enough time has passed that it isn't an overly popular name any more. I don't know any baby or toddler Clare's
It's a beautiful name.

PainterInPeril · 05/01/2021 23:38

Claire Elise

Jelly4444 · 05/01/2021 23:38

Claire Elise! Or Elise Claire?

Elouera · 05/01/2021 23:40

I only know 1 Elisse from school, but spelt like that with 2 SS's.

What initial is your surname? If you have Claire Elise ...., what does it spell?

Claire Elise sounds too similar to the piano music Fur Elise IMO.

Is there reason you dont want Elise/Elisse as a 1st name instead of the much more common and older Claire?

Labobo · 05/01/2021 23:40

Claire Elise

Lotsalotsagiggles · 05/01/2021 23:52

Clara Louise is equally lovely?

RoseMartha · 05/01/2021 23:54

Claire Elise

Or similar

Claire Elizabeth

HeidiOfTheAlps · 05/01/2021 23:57

I've always really liked the 'air' sound in names. Clare, Mary, Sarah. Not highly fashionable but all stood the test of time. St Clare was from the 13th century I think.

MercyBodle · 06/01/2021 00:09

Claire is a lovely name.
I'm not a particular fan of any of your middles with it: vowel beginning names like Elise and Elaine tend to run into the r sound at the end of Claire, and Louise is over-used and bland as a middle. Claire Louisa would be much better. I would choose the more interesting Maureen. I assume that is a family name, which gives it bonus points! Maureen would be considered too dated by many on here, but I think it has 1930s retro chic and is rather cool in the middle with the smart Claire.

TenShortStories · 06/01/2021 00:11

If it could be Claire Eloise then I'd go for that.

Claire Louise gets my 2nd place vote.

Shodan · 06/01/2021 00:13

Claire is a most excellent name Grin

I can't say I'm overwhelmed by any of the middle names you've suggested though- sorry Blush

I do like Claire Elizabeth though, as per a pp's suggestion.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 06/01/2021 00:14

Claire Zachcessories?

Ireallymustgotobed · 06/01/2021 00:14

Not Louise, it is the middle name of nearly every Claire I have met, including me. Also Claire is a name pronounced really differently in different regions. I moved a lot as a child and always hated introducing myself.

ChanklyBore · 06/01/2021 00:19

Claire Elise and Claire Louise sound like Fleur De Ali’s to me, not necessarily a bad thing.

Claire is quite a short sound so personally I’d go long for the middle name. And it’s pretty well known, not a bad thing at all, but I think that means you could stand something a little more adventurous in sound.

Claire Evangeline (love this)
Claire Isabella
Claire Angelica
Claire Seraphina
Claire Elinor

Chickydoo · 06/01/2021 00:21

VienneseWhirligig · 06/01/2021 00:23

Depends on your surname. If it's one syllable go for a 3 syllable middle name. But Claire Louise or Claire Elaine are pretty names.

snappyoldfartpants · 06/01/2021 00:30

Madeline works well

akerman · 06/01/2021 03:40

Claire is a beautiful name. I’d go with Elise for a middle name. I don’t like Elaine or Maureen,

akerman · 06/01/2021 03:40

Madeline is gorgeous.

Chambored · 06/01/2021 03:45

Claire Elise ✅

EdgeOfACoin · 06/01/2021 06:14

Louise was the standard 'filler' middle name for girls in the '70s and' 80s. It was especially popular with names like Claire and Sarah because it flowed so well.

I like Claire because it's unusual in nursery schools these days. However, I would avoid Louise and opt for Elise, just for a more modern twist.

Is the baby being born in 1982?
