Like then both but prefer Saskia

I wouldn't worry about Eliza becoming another Ellie name, it's a different sound.

Saskia is a bit frilly to me plus there was an awful one on Big Brother years ago which I always associate with the name

Err, I know an Eliza who is El or Ellie!!

Her choice, presumably because there are so many of them - it's a familiar short form I suppose.

incidentally her mum puts up with it because for a brief but awful time everyone was calling her Liz which was a big no no
