Both lovely but if I had to pick one I'd go for Saskia.

I like them both. I think Eliza feels more classic whereas Saskia feels more feisty. I don't think either are trendy or faddy and don't think either will date badly.
I think Eliza will always be significantly more popular if that bothers you.
I don't even know which I'd choose if I had to because they're both lovely.

My favorite aunt is called Eliza and in a few days, she will be celebrating her 90th birthday.
Her name is classic and definitely does not date!

She pronounces her name, Eh-lisa. My family are Mexican so it's the Spanish pronunciation, if you wanted a variation on the sound.

Thank you all SO much for these responses. Initially, Eliza looked like a clear winner, but Saskia made a late comeback! I had not thought of quite a few of these points, especially "shortening" of Eliza to Ellie. I thought on Saskia someone might say "Are you pretending you are Dutch?!" - I'm glad nobody did!
