We thought of this name for our baby boy and wanted some opinions on it! We wanted something unique but not too out of the norm. Thanks. :)

@TheFormerPorpentinaScamander

Cash is awful. Love Kingsley though.
I agree.

If you want something like that, why not Rock Hudson?

ulanbatorismynextstop · 22/09/2020 03:03

Loads a money king, just sounds showy. But also cheap like Del Boy

EmmaGrundyForPM · 22/09/2020 03:07

It sounds like a character from a trashy romance novel. Sorry.

That was my first thought as well.

Ruthietuthie · 22/09/2020 03:11

In the US, Kash King is a chain of slightly dubious cheque-cashing, short-term loan store. Their advert goes, "Kash King! Home of the 75 cent money order!"
We also have a chain of pawn shops called Cash King.
So that would be a no for me...

Toilenstripes · 22/09/2020 03:18

@Notverybright

CEO Cash Kingsley wants to build the new headquarters of his business empire in a quaint, old fashioned American town of Kingsley Wisconsin. The only problem is he would have to tear down the community centre to do it.

Can a school teacher and her cute nephew convince him to change his mind? Will they find love along the way?

Find out in Cashing Heart next week on the hallmark channel.

No it sounds like a money lending business, or a pawn shop.. Cash only sounds ok as a surname, like the singer, Johnny Cash as such.

Godawful. Is this a joke? It reminds me of the saying 'cash is king'
caughtalightsneeze · 22/09/2020 03:40

It sounds like a name for a middle aged American private detective, with a fondness for bourbon and who still holds a torch for his ex wife Melinda, who has since remarried to a steady reliable guy called Tom and spends all their interactions reminding him that things could have been different if he hadn't been married to the job.

badacorn · 22/09/2020 04:11

Cash is not a good name, too many jokes to be had.

Discobomb7 · 22/09/2020 04:21

I like Kingsley. Cash, though?.not sure

mathanxiety · 22/09/2020 04:30

Cash belongs in the Classic C&W genre - it's not bad in that context. Maybe you're fans of The Man in Black..

Kingsley doesn't. It's more modern literary. It's a nice name too, imo.

But go with one or the other because they are chalk and cheese.

crumpet · 22/09/2020 04:30

Wouldn’t be my choice - perhaps it’s the alliteration combined with the unusual first name?

redgin · 22/09/2020 04:40

What's wrong with a name instead of a random word?

Fannybawz · 22/09/2020 05:12

Naming your child “money”‘is the height of crass.

CokeyCola · 22/09/2020 05:25

I think people should stop sitting on the fence.

Kmkboyd · 22/09/2020 05:36

There's a difference between being an ass about it and being honest guys. Its not like I'm naming my kid this. I just wanted opinions. So probably never posting on here again. 75 % of these people sound stuck up and rude. Thanks anyway

I assumed Kingsley was your surname. If not it's actually not that bad as an unusual/different first name. Is Kingsley your surname?

ODFOx · 22/09/2020 07:31

Isn't Cash King the coin counting machine they used to have on supermarket doorways; pour in a bag of coppers and it gives you a five pound note?
Sorry OP: it really isn't a nice name.

Tadpolesandfroglets · 22/09/2020 07:39

It’s very ‘Real housewives of New York!’. Think one of them had two kids named Cash and Kingsley.

boredinthouse · 22/09/2020 07:42

Is Kingsley a middle name or surname? That would make a difference to how I feel about it.

Pelleas · 22/09/2020 07:43

Kingsley Cash would sound much better.

Bloomburger · 22/09/2020 07:43

I'm sure he was a character in Jilly Cooper's Riders.

orangejuicer · 22/09/2020 07:48

You said you'd never post again on your other thread about this.

You asked for feedback on an internet forum, what did you expect?

MrsGrindah · 22/09/2020 08:02

Well if you are not actually naming your kid it ( and thank God for that) then what was the point of both threads?

Flappingflamingo · 22/09/2020 08:52

What are your other options?
