Crazy names you didn’t use?

Oh, is mine a list to be judged. Grin

For my 1st, I fully admit I shouldn’t have been allowed to name a cat, let alone a child. She narrowly avoided being called Keilani Aqua.

I hang my head in shame.

My 2nd escaped any really dodgy possibilities, lucky thing.

My 3rd......Well on the list were Scipio, Zealand and Rockford. I hadn’t learned my lesson from number 1.

Not saying I don’t still like them, but I know now they shouldn’t have been on the list!

What names did you have on The List, that you look back and think ‘How was I THAT crazy?’ Grin

I really loved Maverick and was on my boy list, however DH refused to even discuss it! I don’t think it’s that bad but everyone I’ve told has looked horrified.

AragornsManlyStubble · 17/06/2020 21:27

See, I agree with you that as names go, it’s not a truly mental one, it could work!

Jupiter Blush

123Dancewithme · 17/06/2020 22:54

I wanted to call DS Atlas or River. Both were vetoed by DH and he has a traditional, classic name.

Mumto1andthetinybun · 17/06/2020 23:00

Esmeralda and Archibald

starwarstimes · 17/06/2020 23:01

They're genuine names but I guess a little crazy

DD - Xcaret, Zazil
DS - Zamna

I have some Mayan background and since we don't live in the area, I wanted my DC to have some good connection to their roots but in the end we went with slightly more regular names with just a tiny bit of a connection.

Love51 · 17/06/2020 23:03

Persephone.
I mentioned it to DD (8) recently, she says she prefers the name she has!

Pumpertrumper · 17/06/2020 23:06

I wanted to call DS Gatsby ... DH said no, I’m kinda glad now

delilabell · 17/06/2020 23:06

Wren. Would definitely not go with our surname

OVienna · 17/06/2020 23:09

I have a cousin called Maverick. His dad's name seemed even worse (at the time.)

Crabbo · 17/06/2020 23:10

@123Dancewithme Haha Atlas is on my list (find out if it’s a boy or girl next week...) I do know one already though...

catinb0oots · 17/06/2020 23:10

Merlin

Thinkpinkstink · 17/06/2020 23:11

Had DD been DS she may have been called Spike or Buzz.

Wilberforce1 · 17/06/2020 23:12

Dh wanted to call our son Woody!

Lollypop4 · 17/06/2020 23:13

we let our older children choose middle names for the younger 2..
...
Ds age 6 at the time wanted..
Captain America or Hulk...
we allowed him Thor.
(We actually love it though!)

Clarey12988 · 17/06/2020 23:31

I really wanted to call DD Meadow, DH said no. I actually still like it!

FlurryKnox · 17/06/2020 23:34

I think I flirted with Iolanthe.

greengoose21b · 17/06/2020 23:37

Oh @furryknox me too. Actually, I was also considering Violanthe. Violanthe September to be precise.

quarentini · 17/06/2020 23:43

Seriously considered Serendipity for Dd1 with Serena as a nickname.
She was named Emily 😀

whatausername · 18/06/2020 00:58

Hatshepsut (middle name of course...)
Atticus (too pretentious)
Amadeus (see above, gorgeous name though)
Esmerelda (there's frilly then there's this)
Hepzibah (a damn fine name! But one a child might not appreciate)
Shirley (this was as a child and because there was a character I liked on a tv show)
Venus (it sounds nice, okay?)

maras2 · 18/06/2020 01:08

Back in 1969 me and now DH decided that our future kids would be boys called .............
Che (as in Guevara) ......... and
Jagger (as in Mick) Blush
Fortunately we didn't start our family (boy and girl), with fairly traditional names, until 7 years later after we'd grown up a bit Grin

IndiaMay · 18/06/2020 09:36

@Wilberforce1 Woody is my number 2 boys name! I love it.

AragornsManlyStubble · 18/06/2020 13:59

Violanthe September is gorgeous!
