Hi

Looking for a nice classy girls name.

Popularity doesn’t bother me, but just looking for something classy and elegant.

I like Arabella and Charlotte.

My husband likes Emily and Sarah.

Any suggestions? And your thoughts about my current list?

Thanks everyone

I like Charlotte, I find Arabella a bit too ‘flouncy’. I really dislike Emily and Sarah as find them so dull.

I’ve always thought of Grace as being classy, something about its simplicity. Also Amelie, Clara, Annie, Margot, Genevieve, Vivienne, Verity, Zara, Meredith all strike me as ‘classy’ names

I would love to see a thread of beautiful names considered classless as in, could be used by any class

PetraRabbit · 03/05/2020 17:24

Clara, Cora, Audrey- all classy and coming back into fashion if you want something slightly more of the moment. Anna is a stunning classic too.
I love Sarah. Also like Emma - I think it's classier and prettier than Emily.
Emily and Charlotte are very nice but a bit boring.
Arabella is a bit difficult to say. I like Annabella better. Or Annabel which is the classiest of the three versions.

Emily and Charlotte are my favourites from your lists. Really and classy and classic- perfect.

If not, how about:

Imogen, Greta, Jemima, Clementine, Martha, Delilah, Edith, Pearl, Margot, Holly, Margaret (Maggie), Liberty or Wren

Lovely names op. My fave is Sarah but I'm biased as we have our own baby Sarah!she was named after my late Nan who was an incredible woman (and very classy) next fave on your list would be Charlotte I think it's a beautiful name and was on my own list too but my dh wasn't keen.

call the kid rio and let her dance in the sand.

arabella and charlotte have length that makes them sound more refined than emily which is more common imo bc there are so many. its still classy enough though. charlotte can easily be charlie, chaz, something grim like that - I wouldnt do it. Arabella is the superior name of all 3. Jemima, Beatrice, Claudia, Annabel (please no elle), I'd say are classic over names like India, Matilda, Layla..

Isabel90 · 04/05/2020 16:43

Emilia

emcero1 · 04/05/2020 16:56

I'm an Emily, and honestly I hate it - so common and dull!

However, I find myself feeling strangely hurt by how many people feel the same about it on this ready - vaguely ridiculous when I agree, but still...
