Thoughts on the name Lorelei?

Hi all! Me again!! 😅

I'm going to keep these threads coming until we find a baby name unfortunately 😅

Thoughts on the name Lorelei?

I like asking for an outsiders opinion as it highlights points about the name myself & hubby wouldn't have thought of!

I’d probably assume you were Gilmore girl fans as it’s the only place I’ve heard it. But I like the name.

My daughter Lorelei is currently sat on my knee!
I love her name, more importantly she loves her name.

Sometimes people don't hear it properly at first, but she corrects them and often spells it at them too!

We call her Lolly for short.

No regrets at all, I actually like the associated story behind the name too!

I like it. Reminds me of the song about the mermaid we used to sing in German class. Also Lore and Lorel are lovely nicknames

I think of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and that's the first place I heard it. And I love the name. Laura and Lauren are so wet, Lorelei much prettier.

My friend has little one named Lorelei. She used it for the Mermaid reference - not Gilmore girls. She usually shortens to Lori now

Lovely name. I know a singer called (very appropriately), Lorelei. A timeless classic, go for it. Who knows, your daughter may be musical.

I love it & seriously considered it for DD - loved the Gilmore Girls too.
