Husband loves it, I’m just trying to get a feel for it.

Neighbours

Longtalljosie · 03/04/2020 12:37

But I haven’t watched it in years. It’s a nice name.

Peregrina · 03/04/2020 12:37

Scottish. Why not, if you like it?

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2020 12:38

Scottish landowners/ farmers son Smile I like it though and if you are actual farmers it is win win.

huuskymam · 03/04/2020 12:39

I love it

PenguinsOnParade · 03/04/2020 12:40

That most people won't pronounce it properly. The ch should be like the Scottish ch sound rather than a ck sound which most people seem to use. I've heard both lach and loch for the first syllable too although I think it's meant to be loch, no matter the spelling.

Palavah · 03/04/2020 12:42

I like it.
I think I've heard of more Aussies than Scots called Lachlan. Commonly shortened to 'lockie' (don't know how they'd spell that).

Flymetothestars · 03/04/2020 12:43

I quite like it actually. Nice!

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 03/04/2020 12:45

The baddy in Emmerdale

RightOnTheEdge · 03/04/2020 12:47

Serial killer from Emmerdale is my very first thought, but I only said that because you asked.
I actually really like the name.

Dreamersandwishers · 03/04/2020 12:47

Lachie Junior in Hamish Macbeth...

Whoareyoudududu · 03/04/2020 13:31

I like it but my DH said it was the name of a rapist in Emmerdale a few years ago...

AgeLikeWine · 03/04/2020 13:32

An Aussie.

MyDcAreMarvel · 03/04/2020 13:34

That you are Scottish.

LolaSmiles · 03/04/2020 13:34

Lovely Scottish name, but it also reminds me of someone I knew who was really cocky which somewhat ruins it for me

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 03/04/2020 13:36

Lachlan Goudie the artist?

Stet · 03/04/2020 13:37

Don't use Lachlan if you can't pronounce the 'ch' sound and it comes out Lack-lan Grin

Standrewsschool · 03/04/2020 13:38

Scottish. Lovely name.

Bezalelle · 03/04/2020 13:39

A rugged Aussie man.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 03/04/2020 13:40

One of my Australian cousins has a son called Lachlan so I think of him!

ooooohbetty · 03/04/2020 13:40

A name that he is going to have to spell out every time he has to give it for the rest of his life

XoXoXo2 · 03/04/2020 13:41

Love it!! Great name

TheEndIsBillNighy · 03/04/2020 13:41

It sounds Scottish to me. I absolutely love it.

Bienentrinkwasser · 03/04/2020 13:41

DH is of Scottish heritage but we live in the South East. Would have to pronounce with a hard ‘ck’ sound as would make it impossible for everyone else otherwise and possibly seem a bit pretentious if we kept correcting people!

Emmerdale!
