Names you wouldn’t shorten - girls

I have a name which is always open to various nicknames and I find it irritating. As such, I am after a name for my daughter where you wouldn’t typically feel the need to shorten it. Can anyone think of any?

My dd is Anna . She is 19 and no one has ever shortened it - but they have lengthened it !

All but 1 of my dc have a name you can't generally shorten.
2 of them get a longer version of their names!!. Can't win!
Just pick a name and reinforce how you want it used...

My daughters name is Darcie, although occasionally she gets called Darc.. Blurgh! Mostly though it's the full name

I have a willow and although there is an obvious shortened version no one has ever used it! Maybe it's not prone to shortening! Agree with others though Zara, Zoe, Mia, Ivy, Ann(a) (ie).

I think all of these listed here are open to shortening or lengthening I'm afraid. You may just have to police it after they're born.

Both of mine DCS names cant be shortened. We called our DD Miley, so my FIL has recently taken to calling her Mils...as in short for Milly, gets on my tits!

Just not my name. Mum wanted a name that couldn't be shortened....called me.......wait for it.................Joanne.

The only person (apart from medical professionals) that calls me Joanne is my mum. When I am in trouble.

To everyone else, guess what...I am Jo!
