Just that :-)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Love Rebecca but not keen on the shortenings ie Becky, Beck, Becca

I know a Reb.

Nojeansplease · 13/02/2020 21:58

I thought very dated,
80s / 90s name
And then Beyoncé sang about Becky with the good hair
And Becky is now an insult
So I wouldn’t personally use it

But I’m sure by the time any baby is old enough things will have changed again

DramaAlpaca · 13/02/2020 22:00

Timeless & lovely name.

Honeybee85 · 13/02/2020 22:01

Timeless. It’s a gorgeous and classy name.

clpsmum · 13/02/2020 22:01

Timeless

1066vegan · 13/02/2020 22:02

I'd say timeless although I haven't come across any for a long time (primary school teacher). I really like it.

Entreprecurious · 13/02/2020 22:03

Timeless. I know a few Rebecca's from children to women in their 50s. Lovely name.

zzzzzzzx · 13/02/2020 22:03

I have a Rebecca in her mid 20s. Were some around her age but I haven’t heard of any since. We always call her Bec, her friends call her Becky but she is Rebecca at work. I still really like the name.

IOYOYO · 13/02/2020 22:03

Wow. I think very dated.

MashedSpud · 13/02/2020 22:05

Not a bad name but dated.

NotStayingIn · 13/02/2020 22:06

Dated. Sorry don’t love it.

stardust40 · 13/02/2020 22:06

Timeless

Dd1 is Rebecca .... she's the only one at her secondary school which is great as usually that only happens with wacky names!

AlpacaGoodnight · 13/02/2020 22:13

Sounds very dated to me and dislike the shortenings!

Socalm · 13/02/2020 22:14

Dated

SallyWD · 13/02/2020 22:16

Timeless

NutRoastNancy · 13/02/2020 22:22

Timeless!

BecauseReasons · 13/02/2020 22:25

I associate it with the nineties. Don't particularly like it myself but it's not generally objectionable.

CharlottedeGaulle · 13/02/2020 22:28

Timeless, beautiful name.

DontChooseIt · 13/02/2020 22:32

I am a Rebecca

I hate it

Rebecca is a mouthful and harsh sounding

Becky is bleugh

Bec gets heard as Bev or Beth

Sorry to OP and all the timeless agreers!

BobbyBlueCat · 13/02/2020 22:32

It's lovely.

cowboy · 13/02/2020 22:33

Dated I'd say

Mamato2gorgeousboys · 13/02/2020 22:35

I would say dated personally.

Goldrill · 13/02/2020 22:37

I'm one too. Don't do it!
For some reason I get called Rachel an awful lot.
The shortenings are rubbish (apart from mine).
We have a very senior manager at work called Becci. Becci should be a person who draws a little heart above the i.

PresidentBartlett · 13/02/2020 22:39

I think it's timeless but prefer the spelling Rebekah.

Headfull · 13/02/2020 22:40

Dated
