What do people think of Shoshana, I'm really warming to it. DH is on the fence but a favourite aunt had this name so is warming too.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AllTheNameAreTakenEvenThisOne · 12/10/2019 21:52

I really like it.

Peony99 · 12/10/2019 21:53

Sounds lovely.

NonUrinatInVentum · 12/10/2019 21:54

I don't like it. I think it's like a defective S sound like Sean Connery was saying Susanna. Sorry!

Letthemysterybe · 12/10/2019 21:55

Yes

Spied · 12/10/2019 21:56

Really awful

Whatevskev · 12/10/2019 21:56

Not at all keen sorry OP
Is sounds like a drunk person calling themselves sloshed

ohbabygirl · 12/10/2019 21:58

No

TailsoftheManyPaws · 12/10/2019 22:02

It’s the name of a truly lovely girl we know who befriended a very unhappy DS at college. Gives me that warm glow to hear it, so yes, I’m in favour.

She’s generally known as Sho.

Mandatorymongoose · 12/10/2019 22:10

I like it, it's pretty, it's a family name for me. I always think of it as a Jewish name but that might just be a bit coincidental.

beelzeboob · 12/10/2019 22:11

Makes me think of the film ‘inglorious bastards’

Pizzaaddict · 12/10/2019 22:12

@NonUrinatInVentum 😂

june2007 · 12/10/2019 22:12

It.s a no from me.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 12/10/2019 22:15

Also a no from me-sounds like a drunk Susannah to me! Or yes, Sean Connery shaken not shtirred!

Ohyesiam · 12/10/2019 22:16

Very pretty

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 12/10/2019 22:16

Shoshana, I loves you I does...🤪

whatamidoing4 · 12/10/2019 22:19

I'm not a fan personally but I chose a name that was very 'marmite' too so I do admire others picking as I call marmite names

Pieceofpurplesky · 12/10/2019 22:19

I love it. But I love 'Girls'

marl · 12/10/2019 22:20

No. It has lots of potential for being said badly or incorrectly.

Lindy2 · 12/10/2019 22:22

I've not heard of it before but if I'm pronouncing it right it sounds like someone with dodgy false teeth or a drunk trying to say Suzanna. Hmm

RLOU30 · 12/10/2019 22:25

Shoe shiner

Naomimi · 12/10/2019 22:43

Love it!

I think its a very Jewish name

Well, if it’s a name from the DH’s family, maybe the OP and her DH are Jewish?

runoutofnamechanges · 12/10/2019 23:03

I think it's beautiful but if you aren't Jewish, it seems a little incongruous. A bit like calling your son Jean if you aren't French.

OhMyDarling · 12/10/2019 23:04

Dislike, makes me feel like I have a speech impediment.
(I do but not usually the shosh sound)
