Don’t be too harsh please. I have a very different taste to many of you on here... for example Elizabeth, Eleanor, Genevieve etc aren’t for me at all. If it’s horrendous please tell me, without the patronising comments.

I like it a lot! Smile

BanditoShipman · 25/09/2019 21:31

Yuck

cammylou · 25/09/2019 22:01

I’m feeling torn - but thank u everyone for giving your opinions not too harshly :)

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

It's horrendous

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 22:06

“I have a very different taste to many of you on here

Can you explain please?”

She means she’s an individual, not
like the mundanes.

IHaveBrilloHair · 25/09/2019 22:10

I very nearly fell for that!
No more beer for meGrin

OverByYer · 25/09/2019 22:11

I don’t like Blakely it sounds like Bleakly.
I know a Blayney which is similar but a bit softer? Not overly keen on it myself but might be similar to what you are looking for OP?

AndromedaPerseus · 25/09/2019 22:15

I’d think they’ve got the surname and Christian the wrong way round and the real name is Rose Blakely which has a nice ring to it

AloneLonelyLoner · 25/09/2019 22:17

Blakely sounds like a rough housing estate or something.
But then I also don't like Blake.

Briar Rose is sweet for a girl I think.

percheron67 · 25/09/2019 22:19

Blakeley is the name of a village near to where I live. A definite no.

PushkinTheCat · 25/09/2019 22:27

If you like more “unisex” names (sorry, might not be being very clear but I mean “not obviously girly/frilly”), how about Blaise?

LolaSmiles · 25/09/2019 22:30

I don't like it.
Blake as a unisex name is nice though.
I don't like Rose as a name

user1493494961 · 25/09/2019 22:37

It's horrendous.

confusednorthner · 25/09/2019 22:39

I immediately though it sounded like an estate agents!

ashtrayheart · 25/09/2019 22:43

I think it's quite difficult to say; it feels clumsy.

mclover · 25/09/2019 22:57

No, makes me think of that horrid druggy that was got Amy Winehouse addicted to drugs.

gnushoes · 25/09/2019 23:27

Sounds like an adjective. Not sure what a blakely rose would be though

DramaAlpaca · 25/09/2019 23:32

I like the Rose bit.

YourWinter · 25/09/2019 23:41

Sorry but I don't think the child would thank you for saddling her with Blakeley for her first name.

Kokeshi123 · 26/09/2019 00:11

Blakely looks like a combination of "blankly" "bleakly" and "blokey".

It's really awful, OP.

Rose as a middle name is perfectly fine but not very interesting.

Kokeshi123 · 26/09/2019 00:14

Brooke, Blaise, Laine, Sian, Hayley, Sorrel, Bronwen?

Pol16 · 26/09/2019 03:30

It will be very hard for the child herself to pronounce and for other children to pronounce when they are young. It’s a name that she’s going to have to spell twice for people throughout her life when giving her details which will be annoying for her. I wonder whether she will wish you had called her something else when she’s older. If there are only six Blakelys in the UK this is obviously an indication that the name is not one that people particularly like. I personally don’t like it all as I prefer softer sounding names, but if you do, then follow your heart.

notangelinajolie · 26/09/2019 03:41

There is a less than desirable suburb of north Manchester with a similarly spelt name.

AlliKaneErikson · 26/09/2019 04:57

It’s very similar to my surname and I’m not a fan of it as a first name. If you’re really set on it what about Blake Leigh Rose?

Astronica · 26/09/2019 06:16

I'm not keen on it. Rose is lovely though - and would be great as a first name. I think you can find something better without going to a style that doesn't suit you like the Eleanor, Genevieve type of name.
