What are your thoughts on the name Nebuchadnezzar? Could it be used as a middle name? Maybe just to differentiate a bit... Like William Nebuchadnezzar?

We had a little Ulysses as nursery. One parent muttered ‘wow - epic’ when he heard it.

Grindid anyone else rejoin 'novel'?

writersbeenblocked · 08/09/2019 09:21

Is that all you care about - not having a duplicate at nursery? Hmm

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 08/09/2019 09:21

It was what I first thought! I believe his mum was called Penelope...

Hmm... was his middle name Oedipus?ShockGrin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 08/09/2019 09:47

Sadly not. Something french (for they were french, so it was ‘ooooo-leeeeeeeessssss’).

CrotchetyQuaver · 08/09/2019 09:49

Dear God just no
Tantamount to child abuse
It's known more for being the name of a particular size of champagne bottle rather than an ancient king.
Your child will be bullied to kingdom come when the other kids find out his name.
Please. No.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 08/09/2019 09:50

Is forgotten about that. Just how big is it?

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2019 10:01

Ordering a quart of champagne might be deeply disappointing!

MrsJoshNavidi · 08/09/2019 10:49

Nebuchadnezzar the king of the Jews
Bought his wife a pair of shoes
When the shoes began to smell
Nebuchadnezzar bought a bell
When the bell began to ring
Nebuchadnezzar began to sing......

And so on.

ClemDanFango · 08/09/2019 10:52

Balonz Nebuchadnezzar would be perfect.

CendrillonSings · 08/09/2019 10:55

Especially if the full name is Balonz Nebuchadnezzar ... Smith! Grin

Stationeryqueen · 08/09/2019 11:00

Glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of a 15ltr wine bottle!

My second thought was of The Matrix & I didn't know the biblical reference.

bridgetreilly · 08/09/2019 14:04

Xerxes would be a better choice if you're looking for a biblical name of a bad foreign king. William Xerxes will also be one of a kind at nursery.

Lunafortheloveogod · 08/09/2019 14:09

There wouldn’t be two of them.. for a good reason Confused.

He’ll never get it on a key ring either Grin

HermioneWeasley · 08/09/2019 14:09

He was a cruel Babylonian king who sacked Jerusalem and exiled the Jews for decades

It’s an odd choice to associate your baby with

Frith2013 · 08/09/2019 16:22

I’d prefer Jereboam or Methuselah.

DameSquashalot · 08/09/2019 16:23

Lol

leckford · 08/09/2019 16:32

It is the name of a king in the past, I really cannot imagine anyone seriously lumbering their kid with this name, the most stupid one I have previously heard is Beowulf, why don’t people give them sensible names?

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2019 16:56

I really cannot imagine anyone seriously lumbering their kid with this name

Neither can I. Then again, I can't imagine anyone taking this thread seriously either yet a few people seem to be.Grin

Shockers · 08/09/2019 17:03

@LadyMonicaBaddingham, Nigel Nebuchadnezzar?

Interestingly, my phone predicted the name after just the letters Nebuch...

diddlediddle · 08/09/2019 17:56

😂😂😂

I like it. I look forward to the Telegraph birth announcement 👍🏼

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 08/09/2019 18:34

I love the Times births deaths and marriages. It’s always ‘announcing the arrival to the world of the amazing Beelzebub Wafflemeister Betsy-Mae Doo-Wap McAfferty-McNulty, first child to John and Mary McNulty nee McAfferty...’

campion · 08/09/2019 22:15
