Love it

Was going to call ds2 balthazar

Which would have matched ds1 beautifully Grin

ProperVexed · 14/07/2019 19:23

Simply divine.

Pipandmum · 14/07/2019 19:24

You are setting them up. Thaddeus I think is ok (Teddy? Tad?) but Balthazar? No one will know how to pronounce it or spell it and people will think it pretentious.

sirmione16 · 14/07/2019 19:25

Tongue twister! Surely this is a wind up

FloatingthroughSpace · 14/07/2019 19:25

Where I live up North those names would guarantee your boys be a target for bullies, but you probably live somewhere very upmarket....

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 14/07/2019 19:25

pip

Thad or Thaddie perhaps

Jinglejanglefish · 14/07/2019 19:25

Is this a joke? Are pp being sarcastic! I'm confused.

userabcname · 14/07/2019 19:26

Balthazar is a fantastic name! I nearly convinced DH with DS1 (we were going to use Baz for short...!). It is on standby for if we ever get a dog.

Charles11 · 14/07/2019 19:27

I like them.
Thads and Balz for nicknames.

Celebelly · 14/07/2019 19:28

Do you live in Middle Earth?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 14/07/2019 19:28

Nope...im being serious

Love the name balthazar

Dh wasn’t keen and between us we came up with another name...i had 30 names on my list including balthazar and dh had 6

Two of the names were the same and we went for one of those

Topseyt · 14/07/2019 19:29

Errrr, no.

Are you going to shorten them to Thaddy and Bally?

Sounds more like something from Greek mythology, but it works there. Not today though.

Topseyt · 14/07/2019 19:30

It you could shorten Balthazar to Balonz.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/07/2019 19:30

@Rufusthebewilderedreindeer Omg I need to know ds1's name!!!!

@sirmione16 nope, but I'm not sure we have the guts

@FloatingthroughSpace erm no, Midlands and not a posh bit...

@Celebellynobit the kids will blend in of we move 🤣🤣

I dated aThaddeus in the 70s, I haven't met one since. I liked the name though it did get shortrned to Ted by most people. The other name is good too. He was one of the three wise men I think.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 14/07/2019 19:35

Yes he was sue

Ted has always been short for edward..wouldn’t occur to me that it may be short for Thaddeus

FloatingthroughSpace · 14/07/2019 19:37

sleeping
Well if you don't live in Sloane Square or South Ken and aren't aiming for Eton, I would say a firm "nope" unless you want you kids to have the mickey ripped throughout their formative years.

I guess it will be character building.

PerrysWinkle · 14/07/2019 19:37

Do you live somewhere very very posh?

Bookworm4 · 14/07/2019 19:38

Really? I think your pregnancy brain has melted. Poor wee souls getting landed with such try hard we’re quirky names/ parents are knobs.

DickZillaofTheVilla · 14/07/2019 19:38

I wouldn’t

Moominfan · 14/07/2019 19:39

Never ending story is an amazing film. Sadly I think the reference will be lost on kids.

TheRLodger · 14/07/2019 19:40

Love Balthazar really not keen on Thaddeus

starfishcoffee · 14/07/2019 19:42

Love Balthazar, not so keen on Thaddeus though. I know a Balthazar and think it's a great name - also - (to give you a bit of hope) he's a grown man and people don't question it.

MrsDimmond · 14/07/2019 19:42

It would be a no from me

C0untDucku1a · 14/07/2019 19:43

Thaddeus was one of the twelve disciples. Normal name.

Balthazar, while traditionally the name of one of the magi, my mind always goes first to the demon. But I do love julien mcmahon so...
