Dear all,

I wonder if you could help me decide a name for dd2.

Our first dd is Isabella (as you can tell I don’t care about popularity of names!)

I would like another classic name to match.

I have always had a soft spot for Camilla. I feel that it’s so elegant...but my husband feels that it’s a bit “posh old lady”.

My husband on the other hand prefers general classics such as Anna or Sarah. I completely vetoed Sarah because it’s been incredibly overdone.

But Anna I feel is so plain and dull.

Who’s in the right?

Camilla or Anna?

Many thanks

Also please no advice about picking Camille instead-as I can’t help but picture a camel!

And I also don’t mind both girls names ending with the letter “a”!

Anna is nicer than Camilla

aliceandkids77 · 23/02/2019 22:34

out of the two I much prefer Camilla, isn’t Cami just the sweetest?
I instantly thought you could go with a longer name and then get to the nn Anna, that way you may find a name you prefer.
How about Anneliese or Annika? Gd luck x

I prefer Anna - that was on our short list.

We also had:
Bethan
Megan
Lauren
Thea
Chloe
Leah
Nicole
Kirsten/ Kirsty
Freya
Carla
Lois

Love Camilla. Anna is a little dull IMO.

You could try:
Joanna
Rosanna
Annabelle

Or instead or Sarah you could have Sadie or Sally?

Cyberworrier · 23/02/2019 23:29

Why not Camille instead of Camilla? Classic but more unusual.

Clementine or clemency

Bumblebeesmum · 23/02/2019 23:36

I prefer Camille
Anna is lovely

Felicity is nice too

I have a Leah Jane, an old testament and a classic name together.

Anna is fine but I don't like Camilla, it really smacks of posh, noisy schoolgirl.

I've known an Alexia and a Rosina before and both were lovely people, which always helps you to find a name attractive.
