Appreciate this style isn’t to everyone’s taste & ‘you won’t know what she’ll be like’ has been thrown around but then you don’t know if she’ll be sickly sweet when you call a little girl daisy? You may recognise me from the Connie or Frankie thread! Grin I still feel like I’m looking for that perfect cool name for our second little girl! Please give me all your amazing suggestions, you’ve all been so helpful so far!

Corrin, Terry (Teresa)

AuntieStella · 20/02/2019 12:31

I'd go for Elizabeth in the BC, called Bob in day to day life.

Elliott is too much a boys name, really

TinTinBanana · 20/02/2019 12:32

Kodi. I love Elliott for a girl.

My dd is Toni and I love it!

RiverTam · 20/02/2019 12:35

isn't it Kate that's shortened to Bob? Grin

Eliot is a boys' name. Do try to thunk of your child having to go through life endlessly dealing with this. I doubt she'd find it especially 'cool'.

Mmmhmmokdear · 20/02/2019 12:35

Bella

Indeed it is Bob short for Kate.

drspouse · 20/02/2019 12:38

And the fact that it's OK to give girls "boy" names but not vice versa is yet another symptom of how sexist our society is and how everything "girl" is not good enough for superior boys.

OnlyToWin · 20/02/2019 12:38

Scout - the ultimate feisty girl.

Sanguineclamp · 20/02/2019 12:39

Robin/Robyn?

RiverTam · 20/02/2019 12:40

drspouse indeed. It's really not in the least progressive.

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/02/2019 12:40

Jamie

AuntieStella · 20/02/2019 12:41

Oh crap - yes, it should be Catherine (Kate) shortened to Bob

Sorry

BertrandRussell · 20/02/2019 12:43

“Really??! I’ve never heard Elizabeth shortened to bob before”

Bob is short for Kate, as any fule kno..........

LetsSplashMummy · 20/02/2019 12:44

I think short snappy names fit the bill:

Meg
Tess
Thea

Or nicknames like Kat, Lou, Bess, Nell...

BertrandRussell · 20/02/2019 12:44

And Coco is one of the frilliest girly names going........

TatianaLarina · 20/02/2019 12:45

Why does a cool girl’s name have to be unisex or an adaption of a boy’s name?

Why are girls names associated with frills?

What’s wrong with being female?

BlueMerchant · 20/02/2019 12:51

Coco is THE coolest name but also elegant and cosmopolitan to me. I would love a daughter called Coco and equally would love to be called it myself.
I've also just thought of another name I love-Dakota.

crosstalk · 20/02/2019 12:51

river Whatever you call your DC they will hate the name at some stage. Strange abbreviations pop up. My DD is called by her surname and DS has a nickname totally unrelated to his actual name.

OP give them three first names - they can pick the one they prefer later.

I do like the asexual names but even in those fashions change - John Wayne was Marion which sounds strange now, and Audrey was once asexual.

Coco like the clown?
