We both like Cain for a first name, Douglas for a middle name after DH dad and surname begins with M.

Cain Douglas M.

Thoughts?

Presumably nobody would call their child Judas?

In 2016 there were 23 people.named Judas in America.

In the country where I live they actually use the name Narcissus! Confused

I really like Cade or Kade, cool name and 4 letters which is what you're after.

Frillyfarmer · 08/01/2019 21:40

I just can't imagine looking at a newborn and thinking "ah, he looks like a Cain" in the same way I can't imagine ever calling a baby Keith or Brian.

Bloody awful name OP, stick to Douglas!

Neverunderfed · 08/01/2019 21:57

Not a fan.

Cade and Kade just sound made up!

Ah the usual on MN if you post an opinion about someone else's opinion you are being touchy! I didn't realise the baby name section was a case of make your post, people respond but you dont respond to the people who responded unless its to say, ah yes the opinion you gave is one I completely agree with, cheers!

I would say some posters have been touchy in their posts and a few actually rude however I have not been rude to anyone in return. I don't let MN get to me, having been on here for so many years now.

Despite the fact I have already said the thread has made me less certain of Cain now, due to the fact that met be he one day may decide to be a Christian, the thread will continue on with the same sort of replys and the same 'if you didn't want opinions don't ask' like the religious opinion is the only one that matters. There are a good few that have also posted to say they like the name too and some more that have posted opinions such as Cain dingle and it being chavvy. All good.

As for people assuming I am uneducated, well, that's not going to concern me. People make assumptions and judgements every day, if I was going to spend my life trying to avoid judgment I would probably not have much of one!

We like Cade very much and being not made up, it is scottish like myself and means from the wetlands, rather fitting because it rarely stops raining in the Highlands!

Cade is a billion times nicer than Kade.

I want to echo a previous poster who said that as an active church-goer no-one at her church would bat an eyelid at the name Cain. No-one would at my church either. I dislike the name Cain/Kane just because ... it's not very appealing, seems pretty dull and bland to me, and nothing to do with my faith or beliefs. I like names with a strong sense of character and stronger sounds - like eg Douglas which is a great name.
