We’ve pretty much decided on Sebastian for our boy, although Elijah & Zachary aren’t 100% out of the equation yet.

Which name do you think fits best for his twin sister: Beatrix, Cecily or Penelope? We are still discussing Edith, Frances, Margot & something a little more ‘unusual’ - Hermione, too.

We aren’t wanting anything matchy which is why these are looking likely to be our top picks (Sebastian, Beatrix, Cecily & Penelope) but nothing is set in stone yet.

Older siblings are Aurora, Violet & Theo(dore - but is always Theo) Thanks!

Zachary and Margot are a great pair....and Mari is a nice nn although the Margot I knew had a completely unrelated nn gifted by a sibling!

Not so keen on Quentin -like Quinn as a name on its own...

would never ever have thought of Disney for Sebastian though - but I am old ...to me its a classic 'slightly posh boy aesthtic' very similar to Theodore (like brideshead revisited rather than disney!) :)

I love Beatrix, but I’m a huge Beatrix Potter fan. We didn’t use the name for DD though because locally it tends to be pronounced more like beer tricks. :/
Shortened to Bea is lovely too

Disney never entered my head either for Sebastian. I just thought of the band, or Public School boys names.
Similarly with Aurora, never thought of Disney. Just presumed it was aurora as in borealis.
Violet makes me think of Roald Dahl :)

Oh, our children are called all sorts for their NNs lol. I just like to think of the diminutives that can come from the names themselves as I figure people that’s what people from outside of the family will make NNs from.

I get a similar vibe from Sebastian as Theodore too... I keep saying that we need to get a tank of fish to use all the names that don’t make it and that we won’t get a chance to anymore lol.

It makes me secretly pleased when people associate Aurora with the Borealis over the princess especially as she was our rainbow baby.

We’ve decided against Frances now - Just to update.

I definitely thought borealis not sleeping beauty. My husband had Aurora as his top girls name as seeing the lights was the best holiday we've had but we had a boy and I'm never doing it again I basically think you're superwoman!

pixieloux · 25/10/2018 15:50

Ah, I don’t know about that @gilmoregal - I don’t mind admitting that I’m anxious about having twins and how we’re doing to juggle everything! We had everything worked out with four in mind when TTC lol.

We’ll be fine though. We’ve been here with Letty... I was happily done with two and couldn’t imagine having another when I fell pregnant with her but everything was and is fine. We soon adapted to a new routine plus we were blessed with the most easy going baby in the world with her... Hopefully these two will be the same lol. DH is used to being surrounded by a big family so loves it... He was the one who suggested trying for number four lol.
