Opinions on the name Bambi for a girl?
We love it but would expect some negative opinions so just looking for thoughts Smile

Go for it Op, if you had another child you could call him/her Thumper Wink

sashh · 11/09/2018 08:52

Google Sheila Caffel. Bambi was her nickname.

Your future child will one day google themselves (or use some form of search not yet invented)

ilovechurros · 11/09/2018 08:53

No, your pregnancy hormones are driving you insane!

MrsMozart · 11/09/2018 08:54

I, oddly, like it...

But the owner of the name would have to have a steely character to pull it off throughout life, either that or be the absolute softest sweetest wee thing with the hide of a rhinoceros.

SeraphinaDombegh · 11/09/2018 09:05

You HAVE to be kidding me. Please think of a name that an actual grown up person wouldn't mind using professionally, then choose that instead...

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/09/2018 09:58

Gorgeous name.........Drum roll.....................
for a cute little kitten.

Changedmynametoolikeyou · 11/09/2018 10:01

As in Bambi who’s mother gets shot dead by a hunter?

Lweji · 11/09/2018 10:08

As in Bambi who’s mother gets shot dead by a hunter?

Other Bambi. The one whose mother was shot dead by a hunter.

Sorry. Grin

Changedmynametoolikeyou · 11/09/2018 10:21

That’s the playboy bunny then. Much better. Go for it OP.

SealSong · 11/09/2018 10:25

Just when you think baby names can't get any worse....

quarterpast · 11/09/2018 10:29

Yikes! Deep breaths OP, cup of tea, sensible head on.. Please don't punish your little girl by cursing her with a stupid name. Give her a name that will do her justice all her life, whoever she grows up to be.

TheDowagerCuntess · 11/09/2018 10:32

FFS!

Would you want to be called Bambi, OP?!

rainingcatsanddog · 11/09/2018 10:36

Doe eyed stripper name.

Fine as a nickname but cruel as an actual name.

PippilottaLongstocking · 11/09/2018 10:37

I once met an Amber who had the nickname Bambi, she stopped being Bambi when she was about 12 but maybe think about having it as a nickname with a ‘real’ name on the birth certificate

PippilottaLongstocking · 11/09/2018 10:40

april how is Augustus the same style name as Bambi?? It’s the name of a roman emperor so definitely more of a ‘real’ name

Hoppinggreen · 11/09/2018 10:41

Stripper name

thiskitten · 11/09/2018 10:43

Noooooo

Sunflower321 · 11/09/2018 10:49

Bambi could be Teddy's sister Grin

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 11/09/2018 11:05

Because both names will be associated with a film before any other meaning.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 11/09/2018 11:13

I have a friend whose nickname is Bambi, nobody calls her by her real name, which imo is much nicer. I was a bit Hmm when she was introduced as Bambi, but each to their own. I've come across worse names, but please give your child the option of a sensible name.

Twickerhun · 11/09/2018 11:24

Ha ha ha nice one op

Secretsquirrel101 · 11/09/2018 11:33

For fucks sake 🤦🏻‍♀️ You cannot be serious OP.

PippilottaLongstocking · 11/09/2018 11:53

april
By that logic no one should ever call their child Oliver (Twist), Juno, Harry (Potter), Alice (in Wonderland) etc etc

I’m defending Augustus, I agree that Bambi doesn’t work as a human name. Although on a similar note I do know a small boy called Sherlock...

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 11/09/2018 11:57

Some names aren't associated favourably - and some are just stupid.

SilverySurfer · 11/09/2018 12:56

Awful - if you like it so much change your name to Bambi and give your child a nice name.
