Hi All,

Our beautiful daughter (DC3) is 6 days old today. We need to make a decision on her name. The name should be international, go well with her siblings Elizabeth and Edward (but not starting with E). Names left on our list are:

Alice
Rose
Annabel/Anna
Alexandra

Please share your suggestions and opinions on above.

So Elizabeth, Edward and ...? Thank you xx

I love Annabel!

All of your names are nice though.

LeeMiller · 26/07/2018 13:19

Rose, Alice and Anna are all really lovely. Alice seems the most popular to me, might be wrong though.

Alexandra is nice and perhaps the most similar (if that matters to you) to Elizabeth and Edward in that it's a longer name with several possible diminutives. Realistically, on a day to day basis she'd probably be Ally/Alex/Lexie etc, do you like those?

I find Annabel a bit sloaney, it reminds me of that Mayfair club the royals (used to?) go to.

Similar names to my mind are Charlotte, K/Catherine, Mary, Isabel, Sophie, Rosalind.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/07/2018 13:20

Alice

Fivefootoffun · 26/07/2018 13:21

Alice is gorgeous! Many congratulations

GahWhatever · 26/07/2018 13:35

Elizabeth and Edward aren't just old fashioned names. They are classic in a way that Rose isn't (though Rose is charming):

Alice
Annabel/Anna Anne
Alexandra
Louise
Susanna
Margaret (I think Meg is charming for a little girl)
Harriet and Henrietta are nice too, with lovely nicknames.

MadisonAvenue · 26/07/2018 13:46

Anna is lovely, as is Rose - or Rosa.

Alice is overused at the moment.

Rjd13 · 26/07/2018 13:52

Absolutely love Alice with the other names Smile

soupforbrains · 26/07/2018 13:57

I like Alice, always have,

but have you thought about maybe using Alicia Rose? which I love LOVE LOVE

Sophronia · 26/07/2018 14:45

Anna or Alexandra. Alice is a bit too similar in sound to the Eliz of Elizabeth.

EducationComesFirst · 26/07/2018 14:48

Thank you so much for your responses, so helpful. Keep them coming, will show them to DH too, we must make a decision today xx

Anna is beautiful. (And very international.)

I also like Alice and Alexandra. Alexandra is such a regal name.

MariaMadita · 26/07/2018 14:53

Oops, I actually agree with the pp, Alice and Elizabeth do sound father similar.

Alexandra or Anna would be lovely. Alexandra "goes" better with your other names (if that's something you care about)...
