Hi All,

Our beautiful daughter (DC3) is 6 days old today. We need to make a decision on her name. The name should be international, go well with her siblings Elizabeth and Edward (but not starting with E). Names left on our list are:

Alice
Rose
Annabel/Anna
Alexandra

Please share your suggestions and opinions on above.

So Elizabeth, Edward and ...? Thank you xx

Rosa

It’s my absolute fave and a twist on the traditional Rose.

I think it goes fine with Elizabeth and Eliza. They aren't going to go round as a duo all the time, especially as adults. If your are mentioning all three just put Edward in the middle.

It's a lovely name, less shortening options than the other two but I don't think it needs it. I'd go for it :)

I like Rose.
I also like Annabelle - this spelling with NN Annie
Arabella is a similar name to consider

Alice is lovely. I think Alice would work very well with Elizabeth. They're both gorgeous and classic names.

I think if Elizabeth gets shortened to Eliza, they both sound distinct enough from one another. Besides, there are plenty of nickname options for Elizabeth. Smile

Love Alice. Think Nancy would work too?

I like all your names except Anna. Would either choose Alice or Alexandra.

Rose is better than Rosa (which I also like), but Rosa is very dated in some countries - think middle-aged Spanish-speaking housekeepers that you get in some US TV programmes.

I think with names such as Edward and Elizabeth you need to have a longer name which has the possibility to be shortened in the same way. Eg. Elizabeth to Libby, Lizzy, Betsy and Eddie, Teddy etc.

That being said what about:
Penelope
Catherine
Francesca
Isobel
Mathilda
Harriet

I like Alice and Annabel best with Elizabeth and Edward.

PinkBalloonsAndCherryCoke · 27/07/2018 14:37

I love them all! Out of that list I'd probably go for Alexandra.

I love Alice, and I think it goes well with both Elizabeth and Eliza. Definitely not too close. :-)

Alice is popular in much of the English speaking world at the moment, and is currently in the Top 20 in the UK. I know for some people that would be a turn off, but popularity doesn't worry me too much. My name is Katherine, and I've never had an issues even though it is so common around the world.

I say use the name you love most! Good luck deciding!
