Which name would you pick and why?

I quite fancy being a Madeleine because my name is short and a bit cutesy, and I fancy something longer but not too frilly.

I'd be a Dorothea, but everyone would call me Thea

redmini4 · 19/07/2018 16:46

Emilia. It's a name I've always loved. Although when I was younger I would have said Winona because it's so unusual and I love Winona Ryder.

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/07/2018 17:18

Anouk Phoebe

dinosaurkisses · 19/07/2018 17:22

Catherine.

I have a horrible 80’s monstrosity which pins my year of birth really obviously. I wish I had a lovely classic name.

drinkingteawhenitshot · 19/07/2018 17:28

Tess! Simple, classic, easy to spell, doesn't date (in my opinion.)

BirthdayKake · 19/07/2018 17:29

Lauren (even though it's the name of DP's ex! Gutted we can't use it for a baby name 😂)

noselimit · 19/07/2018 17:32

Hi Kayleigh Grin

I would be James or Layla

annandale · 19/07/2018 17:35

I love my name... but in moments when I want to be someone else I tend to go for Alison.

DamsonPie · 19/07/2018 17:50

As a child I wanted to be called Joanna so I could use Jo for short. I still wish I had a classic name. My name pins me very firmly as lower class and born in the 70s.

caringiscreepy · 19/07/2018 17:50

Jamie I think, or Cleo

MalloryLaurel · 19/07/2018 17:51

Mallory Laurel
Or
Rosa
Or
Elenna

Trialsmum · 19/07/2018 17:53

Charlotte nn Charlie.

TheMarshwiggle · 19/07/2018 17:56

Emma or Amy.
Simple, classic, easy to say and spell, popular for my generation

Laska5772 · 19/07/2018 17:59

Anna (or Annie)

Would suit me I think classic and timeless

(When i was about 13 I wanted to be a Vanessa which would have dated to its 1970s time period .. )

I have a very common name for my age group (born late 50's) which hasn't had a comeback since.. there were 5 of us in our class

greencatbluecat · 19/07/2018 18:22

I have a name of my mother's generation (she was born during WW2). I have always disliked my name for that reason. Although I have come to terms with it over the years.

I used to like Catherine or Cathy when I was a little girl. I like Christina or Chris and Suzanne too.

Wilberforce2 · 19/07/2018 18:27

I don't mind my name but whenever I've used a fake one (not often) I've always used Laura or Emma!!

thirdday · 19/07/2018 18:30

I'd like to be an Elle or something short. My name is a 3 syllable name and I've always fancied a short one.

haribosmarties · 19/07/2018 18:33

Id love to be called something completely over the top but pretty like Olympia or Anoushka.... I think its because my mum really wanted to call me Emerald but was prevented by my dad!

Racecardriver · 19/07/2018 18:37

I thi k I would make a nice Evalina or Katarina. Or possible sonething like Estella or Minerva.

Queenbee93 · 19/07/2018 18:39

Mary
It's so beautiful and classy. So much history behind the name!

katseyes7 · 19/07/2018 18:39

l love Sarah, but if l could go completely off the rails l'd be Chelsea Dagger.

FawnDrench · 19/07/2018 18:39

Meredith or Imogen

PamBeeslysCardigan · 19/07/2018 18:40

I’d like to be Lara or Elizabeth. I really hate my peak 80s and very common name.

dinosaurkisses · 19/07/2018 18:41

@noselimit not Kayleigh but you’re close! 😂

BevBrook · 19/07/2018 18:41

I love my name and it has already been mentioned on this thread. But if I was to be another name I would pick Laura. There are names I like better but they don’t feel like me, whereas Laura does.
