Which name would you pick and why?

I quite fancy being a Madeleine because my name is short and a bit cutesy, and I fancy something longer but not too frilly.

Annie. Simple and sweet. My starbucks name is Annie

squirrelclub · 23/07/2018 19:08

Louisa. I've only met one but I don't think it's so unusual that it would raise eyebrows. Seems to age well.

LoveHandleIsland · 23/07/2018 19:12

I'd be Alice Smile

ABitOTT · 23/07/2018 22:57

I have an unusual name & there were times in my teens when I wanted a more boring name. I was around when for a few weeks I asked to be called Linda. Didn't actually know anyone called Linda at that time as it was popular a decade earlier. Now I'm happy with my real name even if I have to spell it out every single time!

As a child I wanted to change my name to Felicity.

I love my name now and wouldn't change it. It was unusual for my generation and I got fed up of standing out or having to explain or spell it.

People tend to have heard of it now and it crops up on the baby name boards all the time.

I'll miss being unique as this new generation grows up and I won't be the only one to turn around if someone calls MY name in the street. Well done Mum and Dad!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/07/2018 23:20

Jean. It's simple, easy to spell, and grown up.

AnnabelleLecter · 24/07/2018 10:10

I love my name but also like
Zara
Tara
Sara
I like them because they are classless, fancy enough without being silly and not old fashioned or too trendy .

slovenlys · 24/07/2018 10:14

I'd like a name that could be shortened to Bibi.

But not sure what that would actually be??

DollyDayScream · 24/07/2018 10:18

Anna

dw23 · 24/07/2018 16:11

Always thought I was an Evelyn/Eve

Threeandabit · 24/07/2018 16:17

Leah, I would like this name for myself but wouldn't pick it for a dd. I can't really explain that but it's true.

PixelAteMe · 24/07/2018 16:19

Elizabeth or Alexandra probably.

Both classic names that won’t date, and give large scope for shortening.

Nagaram · 24/07/2018 19:25

Guinevere. If I ever go to Starbucks I’ll tell them that (as a pp has done with her name) and see how they spell it! 😁

MrsC87 · 24/07/2018 20:44

Verity or Niamh

Momma22 · 25/07/2018 00:07

I'd really fancy being an Olivia, one of my favourite names only didn't use it with my daughter because it was the number 1 ranking baby name at the time of her birth and I wanted something a little more unique. Not heard of quite as often among my generation, I just think it's so pretty and sophisticated

Angeliki159 · 26/07/2018 10:55

I did.
I always hated my name so I changed it :)
