I love the names Hugo & Digby but my friends have recently used these names on their dc.

Any suggestions for names along the same lines? Nothing too popular..

SharesinTangles · 05/07/2018 19:40

Hugo is mega popular.

Fraser goes with them ime.

Itchytights · 05/07/2018 19:40

Digby sounds like a dogs name and Hugo sounds veh veh posh dahling...

I’m not keen on either.

Sorry

lots33 · 05/07/2018 19:40

Diggory!

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/07/2018 19:41

Hector?

overnightangel · 05/07/2018 19:42

Depend where you live.
If you’re down south and they’re going to private school, crack on.
If up north and going to state school all the best

Buddyelf · 05/07/2018 19:42

I like Hugo, I think it’s lovely. I’m afraid Digby reminds me of a certain Mitchell and Webb skit

argumentativefeminist · 05/07/2018 19:43

Tory names. Try David or Cameron 😂

overnightangel · 05/07/2018 19:43

(I say that a northern state schooler!!)
Names are subjective but they’re both cringey imho

argumentativefeminist · 05/07/2018 19:43

Hugo is the nicer one though in seriousness.

Sweetsdo · 05/07/2018 19:43

I don't mind if you don't like the names or not, that's not what I was asking!
I'm not using those names anyway Hmm

Peachbubble · 05/07/2018 19:44

Otto
Rupert
Monty
Tristan

NotTakenUsername · 05/07/2018 19:45

Genuinely thought the question would be, “do they sound really twattish?”

😂

Sweetsdo · 05/07/2018 19:45

@Peachbubble thank you, I quite like Otto actually

I liked Hugo but I chose Rufus, so perhaps that's in a similar sort of vein? Rufus usually gets a Hmm response on here too but I (and DS!) like it Grin

Cyberworrier · 05/07/2018 19:46

Otto, Rufus, Rupert, Cosmo? Agree with PP these seem like quite private school type names (or that’s where I’ve encountered Digby’s and Hugos and these names above)

Toadsrevisited · 05/07/2018 19:47

Lots here we considered for Ds2. The list included Otto Walter Victor Rupert Horace Hector Digby Caspian Florian Rollo Sholto...DH vetoed most of them!

Dljlr · 05/07/2018 19:47

I like Otto too. Also Milo and Rafferty but DH threatened to leave me in hindsight I should have gone for it

Cariadxx · 05/07/2018 19:48

I ready don't get why people hate names because they sound posh..... but get lambasted for saying a name is chavvy. I don't understand why it's ok to slag off the upper classes but not the lower classes. I would much rather be called posh than chavvy!!

Ploppymoodypants · 05/07/2018 19:48

Oh I LOVE Digby.
We considered it but unfortunately it’s the name of a well know Victorian mental asylum in the local area which is still relevant today.
What about Diggory. We considered that too, and can be abbreviated to Digger for a cute little boy or Rory for something smarter, depending if preference.

Buddyelf · 05/07/2018 19:49

Sorry OP completely mid-read your post! Rafferty? I know someone who has a Raffety (and we are up north shock horror!) and she calls him Raff which I though was nice

Dljlr · 05/07/2018 19:49

Oh I love the name Rory!

MorrisDancingViv · 05/07/2018 19:50

Willoughby

BabloHoney · 05/07/2018 19:51

SleepWarrior · 05/07/2018 19:53
