AnyaMoondial · 21/04/2018 18:10

My dh calls his grandad Nanda. Think it's a Welsh thing.

FetchMeMyLatte · 21/04/2018 18:11

Lol April
My partner has actually started referring to himself as DP after looking through mumsnet so much!

DPs late dad is known as Pops. I’ve heard Nin for Grannie and also Nonna (Italian I believe). Papa or Puppa is a Scottish option for grandad.

My dad is Grad to my DS. He couldn't say Grandad when smaller and it stuck.

MemoriesOfAnotherFuture · 21/04/2018 18:28

Friend of mine’s DC call their grandparents Tutu and Kuku- the Hawaian grandparent names! They aren’t Hawaian or even American, they just went on holiday there the year the eldest DGC was born and liked the names and they stuck!

NapQueen · 21/04/2018 18:29

I like the welsh, "Bampy" for Grandad.

Nan, Mops, Chip, Granny, Nanny, Nantucket.
Grampy, Grumps, Pops, Pappy.

Totallytopsecret · 21/04/2018 18:29

We have a Taidy (very ironic) and Grammar and a Granny and VanDad (he has a van).

I had a friend when I was little who used to call her Grandad Gransam and her nan Grandmam.

My nephew used to call my dad Nandad. I can't see that catching on though. Grin

Spam88 · 21/04/2018 19:20

My dad is Bampa, which I assume is a welsh thing because my DH is convinced we made it up.

FrozenMargarita17 · 21/04/2018 19:20

My dm is called NutNut, and my MIL is Grammy - Grampy for FIL.

Buxbaum · 21/04/2018 19:34

North Welsh GPs on one side here, so Nain and Taid (pn. 'nine' and 'tide'). I think it's different in south Wales.

Smeddum · 21/04/2018 19:35

I love Bampa, never heard it before. It’s lovely!

n0ne · 21/04/2018 19:35

HeyMicky · 21/04/2018 19:37

yikesanotherbooboo · 21/04/2018 19:40
